Obviously, Wes Johnson was a pitching guy coming in.
What did he do to make Georgia the offensive powerhouse that it has been since he took over?

An elite coach can coach anything.
Kirby Smart was the running back coach for Georgia's 2005 SEC Championship team.

1. Looked at the field dimensions and made a data driven effort to recruit guys who hit to those dimensions
2. Prioritized power in the portal and then adjusted his approach to this years portal group to focus less on exclusive power and more on patience and timely hitting (minimal strikeout numbers, high walks and HBP)
3. Hired Will Coggin (and then Nick Ammaratti) from Kentucky to coach guys to crowd the plate and take better approaches.
