Honest question for Aggies - why has Marcel Reed regressed so much?

Looking at some of the film/replays… especially of missed or inaccurate throws. These were all plays he was making last year or finding ways to make plays with his feet. This year he’s doing none of that. Is it
- Coaching?
- Players around him?
- In his head?
- Coaching?
- Players around him?

Reed is an athlete. He’s never been accurate. He was never a pocket passer yet our OC continues to play him in that manner.

Reed was never good to begin with. His stats last year were inflated by him feasting on garbage teams.
Against UTSA, Utah State, Samford: 10 TD 0 INT
Against P4 teams (+ND): 15 TD 12 INT
He only gets hype because he plays for A&M and they made the CFP last year. And honestly, they were very lucky to make the CFP last year. Just to make the CFP, they needed South Carolina having an all-time choke in the second half and the refs not calling them for one of the most blatant holds ever against ND.

He is better if you roll him out. He gets too much in his head if you are asking him to read the defense before the snap.

lol, if your game plan for your QB is he needs to roll out he shouldn’t be your QB.
It’s very simple to play against a QB that is only good at rolling out. You force him to roll against his body and it’s game over.
It’s no different than forcing a point guard in basketball to dribble off their off hand.
Aggies and all that money should have got a new QB if that’s your take.

If it’s a bingo, why didn’t you say he shouldn’t be the QB originally instead of blaming it on the coaches not playing to his strengths.

Reed isn’t a good QB in the traditional sense. He is inaccurate. He doesn’t have it between the ears. Klein recognized that. It isn’t a coincidence that when Klein checked out Reed began to fail.
The new OC is trying to make Reed a game manager. He isn’t one.
