Best: Julio Jones, Foley High
I could make a case for Cornelius "Biscuit" Bennett, born in Birmingham, Alabama.

Bennett made 1st team AA 3 times at Bama (1984, 1985, 1986), 3× All-SEC (1984, 1985, 1986), SEC Player of the Year (1986) and won the Lombardi Award (1986). Pros he was 5× Pro Bowl (1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993), 3× All-Pro (1988, 1991, 1992), & 2× AFC Defensive Player of the Year (1988, 1991).

Cornelius Bennett is in the College HOF and the Pro HOF.

Julio was great but he can never be in the College HOF because he never made AA.

Depends on what the definition of homegrown heroes you are using. I think Cannon was actually born in Mississippi, not sure when he moved, could have been at 2 months or as a 16yo. No idea and not going to bother looking it up.

Coryatt was from the Virgin Islands but went to Baytown I think so I need to know what the definition is were using.

Cassanova I think is from NOLA

So here's one with a little more research:

Alabama

Best: John Hannah- Albertville, AL

I'm an Albertville resident and started to put John Hannah as the greatest, but they probably meant players born & raised in the state of Alabama.

Hannah was raised and went to school in Albertville, Alabama, but he was born in Georgia.

Is this list only for the last 10 years? Looks like it.

shite list. This person must have only watched football for ten years. To many Sec pro football hall of famers to have such a weak list.

About half of the list is players from the last 10 years. My guess is they sided with newer players if it was close for them.

Homegrown - not best. Plus, you have Lance Alsworth wrong. He might have been born in Texas but he was from Brookhaven, Ms., when he signed with Arkansas.

In terms of a pure quarterback, the best A&M has ever had were all horribly underutilized or wrongly utilized.

Branndon Stewart
Stephen McGee

It just seems a bit "off" that in your entire illustrious history that the best player you've EVER had from LA is a guy that hasn't even finished his career yet.

LF is great, but I have to agree with this.

No offense to Leonard but he has not topped the status of Cannon just yet. In fact I'd still rank Tommy Casanova, Bert Jones and Kevin Faulk above Fournette. Let's revisit in a year.

Fournette shouldn't be LSU's, yet.
