I love these threads for two reasons.

They prove beyond all doubt that the rest of the SEC (if not the entire nation) knows that Saban and Alabama is indeed a dynasty.

They show that other fans fear the combination so much they'll grasp at anything in the hope that the nightmare will end soon.

If Saban doesn't leave you'll see a lot of teams, especially LSU, just shut it down for a while.

Is this the same source that fed the press the Gruden to Tennessee rumors?

Then why are multiple "UNNAMED" NFL sources saying that it is?

I love when the LSU fans troll half their own fanbase into believing these fantasies. I guess it's easy to believe the things you want to believe.

By the way, there's a good chance my wife is getting me a lady, man, lady, lady foursome for xmas this year.

You missed the point entirely. I didn't say one thing about the teams - especially LSU. In other threads, I've stated that Miles is one of the few coaches that will stand up and punch Nick in the mouth.

I am talking about the FANS.

LSU is the absolute best example. You've got a coach that has a national title, multiple conference titles, and wins 80% of his games, and a very vocal part of the fan base would fire him tomorrow if given the chance.

You're the ex wife that is remarried to a handsome rich guy but still secretly wants your old hubby back.

The kind of stuff going on now? Please tell me you don't work around sharp objects.

Have you looked into the "kind of stuff going on now" or did you just whip it out and start whaling at the first gossip column?

I really don't think Saban is going anywhere, unless the Browns offer an insane amount of money Bama cannot match.

But Terry said the exact same thing when they were in Baton Rouge FWIW.

I think its funny that The Browns have been brought up in this repeatedly. 1 writer in Boston says it, and all a sudden its fact.

On the local end every Browns guy has said repeatedly that there is no chance the Browns will be interested in him. Tony Grossi was on the radio last night laughing about it.

Draconian Sanctions

Yeah and he also said “He’s got great drive and he’s never satisfied. Nick is always about the next challenge.”
Is it not a challenge every year to recruit successful, coach up young kids to play Saban's way, win football games and make it to the SECCG or BCSCG consistently ? Is this not enough ?

I mean it's not like Bama hasn't had a little luck to be where they are now: The UT block in 09', Okie St. losing to Iowa St. for a rematch in 11', the McCarron/Yeldon drive, K St. and Oregon losing the same day in 12'.

I mean it's not like Saban is getting bored and doesn't have the drive to win at Bama. It's just not a "gimmie" every year even though it may seem like it is when it comes to "Bama winning it all every year."

So may the dream of "Saban leaving every year" flow deep through the butthurt LSU fans.

Excellent post.

Saban works his arse off - his coaches and players work their asses off - and it has still taken some "luck" to get where Bama football is today.

Nick Saban is not a God, he's just a damn good manager and a good football coach.

Well, the possibiity of Saban leaving for the NFL is the #1 topic of conversation on sports radio here in Alabama. Those aren't LSU fans who are jealous, by the way.

Smoke, fire, whatnot.

Again, I am not at all saying that he is leaving. He might just be allowing the rumors to float so he gets more money out of Alabama. Or, maybe this is Sexton again. I have no idea if he will leave or not. But, everytime we see rumors like this, there is always some real conversation going on behind the scenes.

This is not just some guy in Boston speculating.

Doesn't mean that Saban will go, though.

No, they're hoping and praying Auburn fans.

Who actually speculated that IF Cleveland fire their coach (they haven't and he's currently on a pretty good winning streak) and IF Cleveland fired their GM and hired Lombardi (they haven't) then Saban would be ONE OF the people they would be interested in getting.

The fact that this rumor found legs across the nation doesn't show that there's smoke. It shows how badly other fanbases want Saban out of Alabama.
