Guilty. I went by the OP. Just saw the buyout qualifier.

Edited.

but of course a majority of Ranters in this thread will actually believe that is their annual salary

Most know BB and Butch are overpaid at 3+ mill. No need to get worried that posters think they are overpaid at 5+ mill.

Rumor has it that if Mizzou doesn't sh*t the bed in the next few weeks that Pinkel is going to get an extension somewhere around the 3.25M mark.

Comments and questions

1) I'm surprised Texas is paying Mack so much. He has had 3 or 4 nationally relevant years out of the last 10 or so (2005, 2008,2009, plus I'm probably missing one).

2) A lot of coaches are WAY overpaid, but Saban isn't one of them. Any coach making over 2.5 mil and not competing for championships on the reg is overpaid. Guess you have to pay what the market dictates, but I'm just saying the market for the most part is way overinflated.

3) What the frick is the purpose of the "Staff Pay" column? Every single entry is blank! This is kind of mind boggling.

None of the other coaches have really come close to the production of Saban, yet there are several who are breathing down his neck Salarywise (Really? Mack Brown? LOL). Your point is clearly that bama started it by paying Saban 4 mil or whatever it was at the time. But did anybody else really have to follow? I mean there are some good coaches, e.g. Spurrier and to a LESser extent, Miles, but all these other coaches, like Kirk Ferentz and Mack Brown making the bank they do just makes no sense at all.

Why not? We would still be getting a huge return on our investment every year
