I have to give Murff's some props as well, the Murff burger was really good.
The burger was good, but the philly cheesesteak was where it was at.

I've got to visit Oxford soon. Visited while in college several years ago (mid 90s) but never really got around town and was at a fraternity party. I've heard so many good things about the restaurant scene there.
For such a small town, Oxford has several awesome places to eat. Oxonians are naturally skeptical of chain businesses, which is why people protested the building of a Wal-Mart and Target so heavily. I'm 99% sure that the aldermen won't allow a chain store or restaurant to open anywhere near the square, hence the places like Hinton and Hinton, Square Books, Nielson's, 208, City Grocery, Ajax, Boure, Bottletree Bakery, and the bazillion other places that aren't like anything else out there.

As far as fast food goes, this is my favorite.

TD's or 601 or any State fans, do any of y'all know what it is about the pizza dough at Stromboli's that makes it so good? It's doughy but kinda sweet and really makes their pizza what it is.

Bento is also the shite. It's better than Hokkaido, Kobe, etc.
Also, El Rincon has amazing margaritas.

Anyone coming to the SEC Baseball Tournament and likes pizza, needs to try this place. On Ala 150 between the Met entrance and the Galleria.Tortuga's

Another place in Oxford is Tacquiera el Milagros (or whatever it's called). Everybody thinks El Sombrero or Charros or Margaritas has the best Mexican food, but that's a lie. It's Milagros.
Also, there's the Tacqueria (I have no idea how to spell that word and I'm too lazy to Google it) that doesn't have a name which is sorta behind the old Blockbuster Video where all of the Mexicans eat at. That place is AWESOME. They have Mexican Coke (which is made with real sugar and vanilla bean) and all kinds of awesome and strange tacos you can get freshly made. My favorite: tongue taco.

Murff's was the shite. My routine was to eat friday hangover lunch there....cheese burger...add bacon and egg. mmmmmmm.
Mundo Latino aka The Taco Shop down university behind Oby's is the shiiitttttt. If you havent tried it, please do yourself a favor. One of my aces in Oxford. It is an authentic mexican resturant/grocery stop that isnt too bad on the wallet either.

That place has a name? Look above, I thought it was "a taco place without a name", which sounds like the title of a Johnny Cash song. Anyway, I love their food.

I forgot to mention DePalmas in downtown Tuscaloosa. Very good Italian place. One of my favorite Tuscaloosa restaurants.

DePalma's is pretty good, but I don't think it's amazing. Just solid, imo.

It's not "amazing" by any means, but it's still very solid and definitely one of the better restaurants in town.

I like Cypress Inn. It's not exactly a tourist attraction like Dreamland is either.
