I think he's talking about the joint directly across 15th from The Downs and Wendy's. It's on that little pond. It's changed ownership a few times but has always been good bbq. Good sauce. Just not the best in town.
If we're talking about the same place that is...

Yeah, they had a pretty good hamburger steak there..

That sounds familiar. Good sauce and good pulled pork sandwiches.

Did you ever see ducks? If so, it was probably the place he was talking about.

What eyesore? Must have missed that.

No, but sometimes I hear voices.

The place on 15th is like Mike and Eds are something like that. Used to be Horne's. And I don't think full moon is that bad. Nothing special though.

That's the name of it. Thanks!!!
That BBQ is the best in the world compared to most anything I find out here.

Ya it still is pretty good. Their brunswick stew is great. I live in Cleveland now, and no one knows what bbq is here. Its frustrating.

Ole Auburn Ale House
It's complete crap again since it went back to being the Ale House instead of the Strutting Duck. Their food is beyond terrible now, and the service is even worse.

Good Ol' Boys
Bleh. It's not bad but it's not anything worth driving out there for anymore either. Their catfish was never anything special, and their portions have shrunk while the prices have gone up.

Creole Shack
I don't go often, but it never disappoints. I want to be drinking their strawberry lemonade when I die.

Robot Santa mentioned this at the beginning of the thread and I'm not sure anyone else mentioned it because I didn't read through the entire thread.
But Maggie's is the shite.

I lived behind Horne's for a year. Walked down there many times for lunch. Missed quite a few afternoon classes as a result.

Tuscaloosa and Fayetteville are really nothing alike, apart from being similar in total population size and having colleges in them. But that's just MO.

I live in Springdale right out of Fayetteville so I'll give my opinion on Arkansas. Not LSU.
For a bar/restaurant I normally go to Buffalo Wild Wings, Foghorns, or Louie's. BWW is right off of Joyce in Fayetteville. Foghorns is on College or another is right off of Baum Stadium. And Louie's is on Joyce as well.
AQ Chicken is one of my fav chicken places. Also in Springdale I like to go to Neal's cafe, good fried chicken and pies.
Penguin Ed's on College and the other is on Crossover is my fav BBQ place around here.
Off of Wedington I'll go to Gusano's for pizza. Tim's is pretty good as well, good salads. And Guido's is also another good pizza place.
Chinese buffets are everywhere. Though in Springdale on Elm Springs road there is a Chinese place called Mama Tangs that has great prices for a lot of food.
Also in Springdale pretty much every restaurant you see is a mexican place, really can't go wrong there. Las Margaritas, Las Palmas, Acambaro, etc...
That's all I can think of now. So long piggies.

Any Tuscaloosa folks or Alabama fans been to Epiphany or the newly opened Opus in Northport. The same guy that runs Kozys opened Opus in the spot where The Globe was. I`ve seen good reviews of these two places but wanted to get firsthand reviews from anyone who has been. For rival fans visiting Tuscaloosa who are familiar with Chuck`s Fish, Epiphany is right across the street from Chuck`s. Also was curious about Harvey`s for any State fans on the board. I always thought the Tuscaloosa location was solid but it closed and a Buffalo Wild Wings has been there since. Are the Columbus/Starkvillle locations still open? I know it`s a Columbus, MS restaurant so you guys would know. Why did the Ttown location close?

You're right when you're talking about cultural make-up and the like. However, in terms of city layout and what each offers, they're are pretty similar. The biggest difference is Fayetteville is the largest city in its region. Tuscaloosa is 50 miles from Birmingham, a metro of 1.5 million.
