I think it would make total sense for LSU. Geographically, LSU sits closer to Big 12 country than SEC. LSU recruits Texas hard. It just seems more natural.
Ole Miss would win more but doesn't fit as well as LSU.

All teeth still in place. No knuckles checked. LSU people were strangely quiet that night. Drove through Sonic twice wanting to see if anyone wanted a go. Not even one LA tag on a car

SEC wants to make it a rivalry.
The SEC wanted a presence in Texas. They didn't care who it was. They got A&M and Texas is finally starting to improve. This win gives A&M hype in the state.
