So you finally agree with me that no polls voted UGA #1 for 1942.
I can tell you that Georgia beat Florida 75-0 that year.

I am telling you that not one single poll picked UGA for 1942. Am I correct or not?
Consensus National Champions is what I am arguing. Am I correct, or not?

Depends on the time period. Some named after bowl games some named before bowl games. Would you think before or after all the games were played would be more accurate?
Yeah, they were awarded before the bowl games...when the bowl games didn't count.
And when the bowl games counted...then they awarded them after.

No.

Yes, the bowl games were always considered exhibitions when it came to the national championships. Are you under the impression the final AP poll came out after the bowl games were played?
This is 100% flawed. Exhibitions aren't included in teams records... NFL teams don't record pre-season games as part of their team records for example.
Bowls have ALWAYS been included in a team's record... because they're a regular game that counts just like a "pre-season classic" matchup between OOC teams counts. It's an official game.
You seem to not understand this basic fact. Alabama counts EVERY one of their bowls as a game. They were never exhibitions.

Shh, I wonder if he knows that the NCAA didn't count bowl game stats until 2000.

And yet many fought in WWII. I'm not sure what your point is.
Consensus National Champions, right?
You can argue semantics about whether it was a poll or selectors. Either way we still got a title. Which was how many years before Florida got their first?

But they did count bowl game results, so what is your point, again?

No.
I gave you the list of selectors, so again you are incorrect.
Not surprising.

You claimed a majority of polls picked UGA. I made a factual correction and you lost your mind and started calling me an idiot (again).

National Champions. I couldn't care less if it was a poll, selectors or whatever you want to call it.
You play word games and I'll count consensus National Championships.

So you finally agree with me then.

If you are going to argue that a game that happened 3-4 weeks after a team was awarded a national championship and they celebrated the national championship was somehow important and part of the process to obtaining a national championships, then you're just a dumbass and you can't fix stupid.
And you obviously don't realize schools aren't who awards National Championships and their records have no bearing on it?
Btw, most of the bowl games stats are not counted and only started getting counted recently. This was true even after they started awarding national championships after.

Ok. I will say that I misspoke and should have said selectors.
We were the Consensus National Champions as per the selectors. I hope that satisfies you so you can relax with the semantics.
By the way....did the NCAA recognize bowl results?

What's funny is UGA didn't even claim 1942 until the 80s. But they want to bring up other bogus claims from other schools.

Finally. Hopefully you'll calm down now instead of cussing another poster out on a sports message board.

And Alabama did not claim something like 7 or 8 until retroactively. Take it up with them.
Alright. You go ahead and argue semantics. It's time to go watch some TV with the wife.
