Well, Achane already had a rough night besides one or two runs. Nothing was working. The option wasn’t working either. Plus, Achane is only 185ish, which is pretty light (he’s a fighter tho). The goal line back is LJ Johnson who is a redshirt freshman who’s only taken like 5 snaps all year.
I kinda understand the logic behind the decision to put it in the air bc LJ hasn’t played a ton. I think the first read was actually Moose, then Evans based on the podcasts I heard. If you watch the play again, you see both guys over the middle are well covered. By then, King bails and throws Evan’s way. Maybe King could have tried to rifle a pass to Moose or Green and let them fight for yards? Who knows.
But yes, with all that said. I like to put the ball in the best player’s hands, who is Achane. I would of given him the ball. What would people say?? “He should of thrown it!” Lol

If JD was on the 2 yard line with 3 seconds left, do you rather (1) a play be called for your struggling RB (best player on the field in A&M’s case), (2) your QB to run the ball, or (3) a ball to stud WR (Boutte in LSU’s case)?? Stewart is no Boutte, at least not yet but he is our leading WR as a true fish

Let me change this up a bit. If we (LSU) have 4th and goal from the 1 foot line, We line up in the shotgun and end up throwing it in the stands while dropping back. Replay shows 2 guys running uncovered in the end zone.

We were on the 2 yard line so 6 feet away, so basically that’s Jimbo’s 2 point conversion play with the personnel we have, a pass play.

I'd put JD under center and let Noah Cain pound out 2 yards. In yalls case, should've ran a naked bootleg with 2 recievers bunched in the slot trailing so King would've had a chance if he couldn't get it with his legs. Everyone in that stadium knew that ball was being thrown to the right sideline. Jimbo's dumbass yelling EVANS, EVANS, EVANS, probably didn't help either
out of the 3 options you listed, I'd put the ball in Kings hands 1st and tell him to fight like his NIL money hangs in the balance, 2nd choice would be Achane, 3rd would be a pass. You're 2 yards away from beating Bama.
