re: Here’s the thing about Texas

I do not believe money can buy passion and loyalty. You can only draw so many Xs and Os on a chalk board. What the money buys is a strong recruiter, not a strong coach. I agree with a Sooner fan. Like him, I think a lot of these coaches run plays to make themselves look like geniuses and yet they’re no smarter than the die hard fan. Texas is notorious for crap play calling. Texas and Texas A&M are loaded with paid talent. However, look at both programs. They both SUCK on offense! Both schools motto should be, “We do less with more!” I love Texas football but can’t stand the ignorance in the offensive play calling. Third and two yards for a first down, we’re going long. That being said, you should probably focus on your own program. Don’t be like these miserable, liberal voters. Always desiring others are more miserable than them. Good luck in the remainder of your season. I like A&M.

I was about to say the same thing about Bama, but then I considered that there have been a lot of gracious Gumps on the board that have offered congratulations to both Georgia and Tennessee after those games. I suppose that's the difference between being "southern" and being "Texan." (No offense to y'all Aggies in regard to the "Texan" comment. Y'all fit in fairly well, and you warned us not to let your weird cousins from Austin through the front door.)
