there's no way anyone knew he threatened to "kill a cop"
I mean, what's the other side, cops just go to the upper deck and randomly pick out a dude to beat up?

Those are premium seats, empty. At what point in the game was this?

I am not with all the people in this thread that say the cops acted great. One did, trying to talk to the guy and reason with him. The other one in my opinion made it worse. He may not have violated any rules or policies, but he sure seemed to enter the situation looking for a confrontation. I think the guy sitting did too. They got what they wanted.
The one cop walked up screaming that the guy was outta there. That was the first interaction between them. All based on the word of the attendant the guy already felt was in the wrong. I don’t see how that helped the situation. I would have much rather seen them walk up calmly and try to talk with the guy and try to reason with the guy before one started yelling. The one cop tried that, but it was too late by then. What happens when two assholes collide? We saw in that video.
I guess I would just rather them adhere to a policy of “be nice until it’s time to not be nice” instead of “obey my authority”.
I guess the scary part is that a ticket attendant can kick a fan out just because she says so.

I get what you are saying, it's a totally different story when the dude says he's going to kill you rather than leave.
If he's ready to die, he gets whatever force is needed to make sure that doesn't happen.
In hindsight the one cop could have used a little less force, but what if the guy was 100% serious that he was going to kill one of them?

But I am not defending how the one cop that tased him did either. He came up being super aggressive, pulled his taser out 15 seconds into the confrontation, and appeared to tase him not because he was physically threatening him but because he called him the N word.
Drunk racist a-hole asked to leave. He didn't leave. No pity. Honestly thought the cops handled it very professionally. A shame the POS got that drunk and acted like an arse in front of his kids.

Threatening a group of cops is obviously moronic no matter what the situation is. Guy is brain dead.

It was stupid as shite for him to say that he was gonna kill a cop. That right there may have even guaranteed he was going to jail instead of just getting kicked out. And he insured they were not gonna listen to anything else he said afterwords. But they weren’t beforehand anyway.
But what would have made me think he was NOT about to kill them right then was that he sat back down and crossed his leg.
If you listen, the first thing that happens is the cop yells that he is ejected. When they walk up the guy says the attendant assaulted him and he has it on video. Who knows, but they sure didn’t care. The cop just responds “its their private property and they want you to leave so you got to leave”. The guy that got beat actually said something funny when he asked “it’s her private property?” The cop that tased him did NOT appreciate that and got up in his face. That is when it went really sideways with the kill a cop comment.
I just wonder how it would have played out had the cops walked up and calmly talked with the guy instead of how it actually happened.
Cops are supposed to try to control and diffuse situations and calm suspects down instead of agitating them.
I guess it is just because I have had to deal with assholes that are in artificial positions of power like an attendant or government bureaucrat that I can see why he might have been really angry when they arrived. He should have done what they said and tried to figure it out on the walk out. I just don’t think the one cop handled it the best he could have.

If nothing else, I think we can all agree he soaked up that first taser shot like a champ. It just fired him up.

He's a POS as a citizen and a father. My only takeaway

The cop should still be suspended for coming in trying to punch the guy. A guy sitting in his seat running his mouth and still not violent even after being tazed doesn't call for a cop to just beat on him. The cop and the man deserve to go to jail.
Nothing the cop did was to calm the situation down and came in acting like he was wanting to hit the guy from the first second he showed up.
The police standard isn't to start beating someone because you can't taze them and they are running their mouth. If he can't subdue a guy any other way then he was in the wrong job anyways.

Crazy how many people automatically came on here yesterday calling out the cops. Dude was lucky that's all he got and the police tried to talk him down all the way through it. He was a complete and total arse and deserved every bit of that arse whoopin. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
