Anytime cops release body cam footage this fast you know it was well deserved.

I didn't. But the guy was clearly wearing Georgia stuff.

There were two incidents and the first one they posted were clearly two guys wearing UF gear. And I said from the beginning when everyone was jumping on the cops, to wait and see.

When this goes to court for the lawsuit and the vid is played for the jury without the sound the question will be was excessive force used.
What was said was immaterial to was excessive force used.

You can't threaten to kill a cop. He refused to go with them. Excessive force wasn't used. They will hear the audio. Why would they not hear the audio? That's pretty consequential as it shows the police trying to reason with him despite him threatening them.

People like that over populate the world. People that need to be over populating the world have one kid.

Reasonable taser lol

That is debatable.

Jacksonville Police Department Taser Policy Manual

quote:

POLICY: When using the ECD, officers will use only objectively reasonable force to bring the subject committing a serious offense under control given the totality of the circumstances; the extent to which the subject poses an immediate threat to the officer(s) or another, and whether the subject is actively resisting arrest or attempting to evade arrest. To properly consider the reasonableness of the force employed, it should be viewed in full context toward the proportionality of force in light of the circumstances. Deploying an ECD is a serious use of force and must be reasonably justified by the officer(s) and/or supervisor authorizing such force.

quote:

G. When dealing with a passively resistant subject, the officer will attempt to gain compliance by giving the subject verbal instructions. If the subject refuses to comply with the verbal instructions given by the officer, the officer will use soft empty hand control on the subject to attempt to gain compliance. If the subject resists the officer’s physical attempt to gain compliance, the subject will be considered to be actively resisting and other less lethal means may be used as the totality of the circumstances dictate.

H. Officers are prohibited from using the ECD as a punitive measure. No officer will playfully, maliciously or intentionally use the ECD in a display of power against an individual, except to counter an imminent threat.

I guess you could argue he was actively resisting, but that would be a hard sell to a lot of people. In addition, it sure looks like the cop tased him because he called him a name. If he truly feared for his safety, why had he not already done it. It happened immediately after he called him a name.

So yeah, the guy was going to end up in jail. And I am not sure he didn’t want to, he was babbling about a lawsuit towards the end. But rewatching it a few times, from when the officer pulled his taser to when he deployed it, it feels like he was trying to teach the guy a lesson.

Did we determine if this was the same officer that was punching the old man?

it's one thing to talk shite to a cop, but if you say "I'm thinking about killing a cop" then it's over

And this sub learns a hard lesson: never form an opinion based on a 10 second video clip.

Right or wrong, I have been going to games for 40 years and when a section points to a person as the bad guy, you are escorted out without a lot of discussion.
