Saban is 4-1 in iron bowl when coming into it with 11 wins. Also, how funny is it that Auburn only has gotten to 9 wins 6 times in the 15 seasons saban has been in the sec west. What a mediocre program

The whole team? What an amazing, gutty performance that was!

That is true, Coach Saban has never beaten an Auburn team that has won 9 games or more. However the only time he has faced an Auburn team with 9 wins or more at Alabama is: 2007- where Alabama won 7 games, CNS was in his first year, and Alabama was extremely weak 2010- Auburn had one of its best teams ever, played and won the NC, Alabama was injured and Auburn played out of their minds 2013- Auburn was a good team, played for the NC, but honestly Alabama should have won that game...

That is mostly true, although I disagree about 2013. Alabama missed field goals in that game, but that is an aspect of the game you have to take in to account. And I don't consider the last play of the game as much luck (like the Hail Mary against UGA was), that was good coaching and making a play at the end of the game, Saban could have avoided that play from having.

I have an honest question for Alabama fans though. How does this Alabama team stack up against prior Alabama teams? While I do believe they are currently the #1 team in the country and their offensive and defensive rankings back that up, it doesn't seem this team is as strong as most Alabama teams the past 5 years. Offensive and defensive lines not as dominant as usual, no secondary wide receiver options, and a lot of injuries.

This Auburn team doesn't have a Nick Marshall or Cam Newton, but our defense this year is significantly better than 2010 or 2013. We are also much more balanced than we were in 2013, and we are finally clicking on offense with the way we are utilizing the sweep and screens on the perimeter to open up the middle and deep ball.

In my opinion, the 2017 Auburn defense makes up for the slight advantage the 2013 Auburn offense might have had. I think this probably our 2nd best team out of the year mentioned above. How does the Bama team compare to prior years?

Nick Saban is 0-6 against Auburn when they have 9 wins or more. Never beat yall even at LSU.

Heard this on Sirius last night. Not sure if true.

Several of those including getting said 9th win against Saban.

There are 5 8-win AU teams that lost to Nick Saban. The narrative isn't as interesting when you apply logic to it though.

Jeremy Pruitt is 4-0 against as. Defensive Coordinator vs Auburn. He's compiled that record with 3 different teams.

Jeremy Pruitt had some success against Auburn at UGA, no doubt about it. The combo of him and Saban worries me a little bit. But his defense did not shut down Auburn in the National Championship game in 2013. 450 total yards and 31 points. Also, I throw out last years game. We were decimated with injuries on offense and Alabama was clearly the better team. This year will really be a good barometer to see if Pruitt has Gus' number.

bet Saban was glad Aub. played ULM last week instead of Bama! Saban is 01 against ULM at home!

Incorrect. Saban is 1-1 against ULM (at Alabama)now. Alabama played them again in 2015. Won 34-0.

Saban also defeated ULM in 2003 at LSU. He is 2-1 overall versus them.
