and wasn’t their lineup average age like 24? That’s an NFL age team
Yeah I think age makes a huge difference in the NIL era. It was negated a lot pre NIL by team continuity which doesn’t exist anymore.

It’s one fricking year that more 2/3 starts were in a team than 5 stars. FFS, it’s not changing the world of football, that’s a promise. It’s like snowing in Florida the other day. It’s happened like twice in 80 years. Doesn’t mean the next million dollar business is a snowboard shop in Destin.
And let’s not act like a high school kid 5 star is the same as a 24 year old transfer that’s hit the weigh room and pills the last 5 years.
9.9 times out of 10, sheer talent and a collective grip of over talented players will win. Guts and grit can only take you so far, so often.
You can either fricking dunk a basketball, or you can’t.
Indiana will go to mediocre next year and then bad bad in 4 years. Ohio State and Oregon and others will beat them by 40 next year.
What will be their reason for not winning it all again behind those 2/3 stars? Bad coaching?

If Beck throws the post instead of the fade Miami wins and Herb’s comment is never made. Always bet on talent.

Not sure buying Beck is the best point of comparison since Indiana did buy a Heisman winner and probable #1 draft pick at QB.
The team dynamic was very impressive. I wouldn't downplay the significance of the James Madison players that had been in the same system for 5 or 6 years as a base.

Trust me...
Next year the team with all the four and five star's QB will hit that pass and they will win the game. After which we will be subjected to all the talking heads telling us how "talent" is what wins championships.
Hell, we heard all that last year.... when Ohio State won the title and Notre Dame also beat Indiana along the way. It was "talent" that beat Indiana and their "try hard" little team.
This year reminds me of when Penn State beat that Miami team in the Fiesta Bowl after the '86 season. Heard the same stuff about Penn State's "team" beat Miami's "talent".
Then of course Miami cleaned everybody's clock the next year.

If Beck leads his receiver to the end zone, Miami wins.
At best the ball gets knocked down
