Not just formations, either. Personnel groupings basically advertised whether it was run or pass. From what I've read/heard, Cameron wants offensive players, especially backs and tight ends, to be versatile. That allows for multiple play calls from a single formation without personnel changes, which, in turn, will allow for a quicker tempo on offense.

Miles alluded to this same point yesterday in his interview on Sirus College Sports. He was talking about the ability to either pass or run out of the same offensive formations.

Herbie gets a lot of unfair flack in Baton Rouge after his Miles to Michigan stunt.

I find him kind of refreshing.

The other thing that led LSU to be too predictable last year was that different personal groupings indicated a specific play.

Ford came in to run a stretch play, Hilliard ran the toss dive, Ware was used on 3rd downs. Defenses did not have to guess very much.

The best thing they did last year was where they audibled out of the run to a slant.

Most of the other passes came off of max protect sets that didn't really spread out the defense or create mismatches.

I've got an awful feeling that this is the year that we lose to MSU. I think we go into Athens and beat UGA in a hard fought game only to lose MSU in Starkville the following week

I think it is just you and me who think this. Anyone else who brings it up gets trashed.

Here are my reasons:

1) MSU has a bye and play some patsy (Troy)the week before that. They have three weeks to prepare for LSU.
2) LSU plays Ga. the week before and will be beat up and emotionally drained.
3) MSU is going to be pumped up at this home game.

LSU may win but my money is on MSU and taking the points.

Its funny.... everyone was writing off LSU for months now. And I have just sat back and

The media and all the fanbases created a death wish from our Tigers....the disrespect shown towards them this offseason is only going to make life more hellish for the SEC when the season starts. Can't wait

Top 3 program over the last 10 years. I think that is an appropriate view.

Ever since Saban laid the foundation LSU has been a monster. I said when they hired Chavis that they would always field a good defense. With the talent they have it is hard to sleep on them unless you are stupid

be honest, your post was all about that first sentence huh

Every single poster on this page is an LSU fan. It's pretty obvious that LSU fans feel slighted that their team is supposedly "flying under the radar."

Even though I don't buy the "flying under the radar" crap, because anyone with a pulse knows LSU is going to field a good team, I believe the main reason LSU is "flying under the radar" is because they have by far the most difficult schedule between the top 3 teams in the West. Only because LSU can't play themselves, LSU has the most difficult SEC schedule outside of Arkansas. LSU could legitimately be a better team than both Alabama or A&M and end up with a worse record.

I think Bama really goes through some growing pains up front on both sides of the ball... No Fluker, No Jones, No Chase Warmack... BOTH TEs are gone... Williams, Square and Dials are gone off the defensive front... It'll be interesting to watch.

Sorry, we our fanbase can be crazy at times, we haven't been good since the late 80s-early 90s

I certainly know LSU is the real deal. But I do have a hard time beleiving that you will beat Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Texas A&M to go on to the natty this year.

We had a great year last year and still have a top offense but until the 2014 or maybe even 2015 season, we won't have near the depth that Bama or LSU has.

I can promise that no coach in the SEC (especially ones with SEC experience) is sleeping on LSU. Home or away.

FYI we won't have to beat all of those teams to go to the SEC Championship.
