They are decided by polling services but not by taking a majority of a bunch of random polling services. Auburn did not win the polls that mattered, that is a fact. You are wrong.

It was not an inferior or less deserving team. That is an opinion. Auburn did not win the polls Miami did, that is a fact.

Actually we do in our media guide and various other places. We just do not advertise it everywhere all the time.

They definitely got snubbed by the AP and Coaches. That was such an incredible team. Miami jumping from 5 to 1 is ridiculous. Toughest schedule in the nation. They were 5th ranked and beat 5 straight ranked teams to end the season including 4 in the top ten. Biggest bullshite I ever heard. I consider that team national champs.

Auburn was srewed in '83. But it is done. We can't do anything about it except reminisce on the memories.

If you claim AU the national champion in 1983, you have to claim Alabama the national champion in 1966 and 1977.
1966, bama was 2 time defending national champions, then went undefeated and untied, and dropped from #1 to #3 in the AP final vote (only time in history this has happened), blemished ND and MichSt finished ahead.

Is it not common knowledge that the NY Times poll was the definitive poll for 83?
