Congrats to the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, Bo Nix from the University of Oregon.

Being the best player is not just about stats.

When you are the best you carry your team to wins and titles.

11-1 and playing for conf title and playoff
v
9-3 and playing for donkey bowl

Nix is a check-down thrower. Daniels does it all. Any objective measure shows Daniels has been far more productive, but many voters are clueless.

Now do Gerhart vs Ingram's stats.

Daniels is 100% deserving, but the voters don't always do us on stats alone; the best team is a factor (fair or not), and player campaign and media hype affect the voting.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he wins in a landslide. It's deserving, but it's far from a given.

I think it's won or lost in how the mid-west and BIG country voters vote. There is an inherent SEC bias this year that he'll also have to fight against.

Where's the "wins" column?

I agree. if Oregon wins this coming weekend and Nix is great, he will likely win it. If Washington wins it, unless Penix has an incredible game, Daniels likely wins. JD has been the best player in college football this year, but that may not be enough.

Well you would need to ask the person who created the graphic, not the person who simply posted it. But you likely know that, unless of course you’re just an idiot.

In fairness, Gerhart's numbers were only slightly better than Ingram's against lesser competition. Bo Nix has been playing against mostly patsies for the entirety of the season whereas Daniels has been going through a gauntlet of blue chip caliber talent.

You don't actually believe 50% of the Heisman voters look into it in that much detail do you? Bo Nix? What's Oregon's record? In the playoff? "Oh yeah, he's going into my 1 slot."

Wow, you're a bit defensive.

I take it that the wins column wouldn't help your guy, huh?

Let's not get carried away. Their best win was against Mizzou who absolutely does not have blue chip talent on defense.

Griffin and Jackson had the same issue with wins. LSU's defense was miserable. Doesn't take away from the fact that Daniels was the most dynamic and impactful player this year.

This does not matter. Are we talking about the best player or the best team? Jayden Daniels torched every defense he played in the SEC. You can't deduct points from him because his defense is ranked 13th in the conference in total defense and 12th in the conference in scoring defense.

That "best player" lost every game he played against actual competition save one.

I'd be shocked if Bo Nix gets 1 single vote. They should only invite Daniels to NY.

Focusing on wins for the Heisman is a simpleton's reasoning when the player's defense is an all time worst at the school.

219 passing 163 rushing and 3tds vs your Banner. You'd say you have a darn good team, correct?
