I live in Columbia, MS. Columbia is the home of Walter Payton...you may have heard of him...Walter played for Columbia High School...anyway, CHS has been in dire need of an upgraded football field/facility for many years...well it was just announced that as soon as the season is over they will be breaking ground on a brand new stadium complete with turf and a jumbotron, ( a jumbo tron is unusual for Miss. high school football)...

But here's the best part...the project will be fully funded by..........The Chicago Bears...the Bears wanted to give something back to the city/school that gave them Walter Payton...that's cool as hell, and kudos to the Bears...

Classy gesture by the Bears, with the declining numbers in high school football players and the number of officials I wouldn't mind seeing more investment from NFL franchises in high school football.

Whether he was the greatest RB of all time is debatable. But he was probably the greatest football player at the RB position. Could do it all. Run, catch, block, throw. When it was his turn to block, he was Sweetness no more. He devastated people.

Nice gesture by da Bears.

If there's anything that the country needs now more than a state of the art HS football field in a town of 6,000...I can't imagine what it is.

Signed, Heartless.
