From twitter
I read that CBS gets the 1st and 3rd pick on their Doubleheader Saturday. Their 1st was Bama vs A&M for the 8:00 game. So ESPN got the 2nd pick. They took TN- LSU. But they can’t put it on opposite of the CBS night game per their contract.

I was hoping Bama and Aggie would be a night game.
With UTk and LSU already at 12 EDT and with the woes of AU, I can't imagine Bama and Aggie not getting sucked into the SEC Game of the Week at 3:30.
Hopefully State blows aggie out and AU somehow keeps it respectable enough to have a chance for the DSOR to get the mid-PM spot, and Bama to get a night game.
But, to the point of the thread, 12 EDT kickoffs suck for every fan of the teams playing, especially those attending.

You wish. Vols by a lot.

CBS probably thinks they are going to save their 2:30 time slot for Tenn/UGA and Tenn/Bama later this year. That would be the max Tennessee games they can do I believe.
As we know, ESPN loves that 11am time slot.

They’re going to be disappointed when it really is an 11am kick.
Historically bad teams like Tennessee embrace morning games but they've been shite for decades. LSU, on the other hand is not used to playing brunch games.

Yeah hillbillies don't exist in LA. Would think a TN guy would know it.

To the tv schedule we all bow. That truly does suck for LSU fans and anyone stuck on central time. Noon games are great for EST if a little early at times but that 1hr difference does matter - I can deal with a Noon game but would hate an 11 am game.
I don't think this was ever going to be a night game unless both teams were unranked or it was stacked against several other big matchups and moved to a night slot to be a night draw. As much as fans like night games, tv programmers want ranked games on at 12 and 3.30 EST.
