“Some of those Stallings/Spurrier games were fun. Two completely different styles and philosophies.
Even though Alabama came out on the losing end 3 out of 4 times I appreciate the hell of those games much more now.”
One of the great miscarriages of leadership was Bockrath’s poor and disparaging treatment of Stallings after the upset loss to State in 1996 at Scott Field.
Totally unnecessary and Stallings basically said I don’t have to take this s**t and f**k you. And he resigned at the end of the season. Sent Bama into a ten year tailspin that was only alleviated by Saban’s arrival.
Stallings was heck of a good coach and an even better man. He did not deserve that kind of treatment from the idiot AD.

Chizik, Dubose, and Oregeron
That is the answer to a trivia question no one would ever get.
Who are the only three coaches to be undefeated in the SEC championship game? No one would answer Gene Chizik, Mike Dubose, and Ed Orgeron.
Those three are arguably the worst three coaches on that list.

And all of them have won something more recently than Tennessee.

The thermostat in hell doesn’t go high enough for either Bockrath or Sorensen.
The Bockrath/Sorensen era was a blight on the Alabama athletic department. Their arrogance combined with their incompetence is what led to the dark days between Stallings and Saban.

Fun fact. Arkansas was the first team other than Alabama or Florida to play in the SEC championship game. (Got drilled by Florida)
I attended that game. My then brother-in-law won tickets through some sort of Dr. Pepper contest and gave them to me.

If I missed any I sincerely apologize.
SOSFAN is wondering where Beamer and USCe is at? Seems to be missing.
