Precisely.
Same reason I don't go airing all my dirty laundry about work on my Facebook page.
Most adults and certainly most coaches understand it doesn't gain you anything in the long run however good it might feel in the moment to "come clean".

Which is it mommy mustain?
1. Mitch is such an elite NFL prospect that a high school coach could ride his coattails to the SEC? If so, then why did you son fail at multiple division one schools?
2. Mitch is an average QB who Gus propelled to a great scholly offer at an SEC school? I tend to think it is this. Gus has shown (at every NCAA stop) the ability to turn an average QB or DB into all conference material.
Mommy should be thanking Gus for getting her son's school paid for. He was not a good QB.

Maybe Gus feels bad (BCS game invite) for using him as a stepping stone. I don't know the answer to that.
I think you're fricked up in the head.

Now I'm convinced this is a bad troll.

One season at Arkansas is all it takes, huh?

Former USC quarterback Mitch Mustain, who backed up Sanchez and Barkley after transferring from Arkansas, is the subject of a new documentary. It's narrated by former Arkansas basketball coach Nolan Richardson, which adds to a slightly strange texture in itself.
What's it about? Well, it's called "The Identity Theft of Mitch Mustain," which strikes me as a bit melodramatic. Mustain, who had an undeniably live arm, had one problem: His ability to select football programs.
When Mustain decided to leave Arkansas, where he was mismatched with head coach Houston Nutt, he could have become the starter for about 100 or so teams. But he chose USC, which simply had better quarterbacks on hand. End of story, at least on the USC end.

I was convinced of this on page one.

The fact that Arkansas fans (most of whom are banned anyway) aren't here to pile on with Gus bashing is a dead giveaway.

Mitch Mustain was so messed up in the head from the Gus and Nutt saga that he went to USC who was already loaded at the QB position.

You and your brother Mitch should be thanking The Lord every day that he was lucky enough to be coached in highschool by Gus. Mitch was a mediocre talent in a great system that was fortunate enough to be able to play for Gus. If he had never played for Gus no one would even know who he was outside of Springdale highschool. Gus allowed this kid to get a free college education. Sometimes highschool does not translate to college. Ask Kiehl Frazier.

Campbell said Malzahn tried to get Mustain to follow him to Tulsa where he became the offensive coordinator in 2007. Mustain has also mentioned that he and his former coach speak occasionally, and that Malzahn offered him a spot as a graduate assistant on his Auburn staff.
Hmmmm... sounds to me like Ol' Gus *tried* to take care of his boy Mitch and Ol' Mitch ignored Ol' Gus and went to USC on his own volition to make his future fame and fortune on his own.

Maybe at least 1 of you will understand the relevance to which I'm saying. Jason Campbell had 4 offensive coordinators in his time at Auburn. He was selected late in the first round of the draft. If that guy can play competitive enough in college and get drafted Mitch had plenty of opportunities to make some contributions at the QB position enough to get noticed by some NFL scouts. I'm sorry he was a shitty QB. The real world was going to eat him up & spit him out at some point in his life.

I wonder what this thread would look like if Saban was the coach being trashed by the mother of a former player.
