I love this...the "end" could also be 4-6 more years of threads just like this.

NO. they lost the championship on the last play of the game. Clemson's QB is bext college player in America - Bama has as many 5 star recruits as the rest of the SEC combined !! Stupid Q and i don't like using the word "stupid"

It is the end.

Saban will realize it and retire after next season.

Did they recruit a number 35 class the last 4 years? No

Did Saban retire and Battle hire Scott Loeffler? No

Did Battle reduce the football budget by 50%? No.

Did Little Debbie quit making oatmeal cream pies? No

Considering the above, I would say that they will continue to be the team to beat.

It was never a dynasty to begin with

Getting extremely lucky and backing into NCs does not make a dynasty

People have literally said this after every Alabama loss since the Texas A&M game in 2012. At that point under Saban Alabama had won two NCs but Sumlin/Manziel allegedly had exposed Saban and it was clear that the new era of college football had passed Saban by. Of course since that loss Alabama has gone 65-6, won 4 more SEC Championships, 2 more National Championships, and made all 3 of the CFP so far. But I'm sure THIS time it is for real over.

1st you have to see Bama not win the SEC

I would say you will have to see them lose 3 games

Have you looked at the Bama recruiting class - it is insane

Look what Nick does with his DL and Lbers over 2 years - they are monsters as Juniors and Seniors - Bama will be awesome every year Nick is HC at Bama - bank it

The Alabama "national" dynasty is over. We've only won 1 national title in the last 4 years. That's fine, it's an insane standard to stay at. 2009-2012 we won 3 national titles in 4 years and since only 1 in 4 years.

However, we are still the elite national program based on past success, and we are in the middle of an SEC dynasty that is only matched by Spurrier's Florida teams in the last 30 years.

You guys just can't let go of that 2011 national championship.

It still must hurt, I'm sorry for bringing it up.

I don't know that I'd agree with that even. Most people talk about FSU's "dynasty" when they finished in the top 5 for like 10+ straight seasons. That only included 2 national titles in that stretch. Bama has been the best, most consistent program in college football for the past 9 seasons, including winning 5 SEC titles and 4 national titles. They've been ranked #1 at some point in each of those 9 seasons - a longer streak than any program in history.

I agree this is absolutely an SEC dynasty, but I disagree that the "national" dynasty is over. I would think we'd need to have a couple of seasons of struggle, not make the playoffs a couple of years in a row, not be ranked #1 at some point in the season, finish with less than 10 wins, etc. for that talk to be more than wishful thinking of rival fanbases.

Yea, it really does all come down to the definition of a dynasty I guess. I'm probably using the most stringent definition around in my analysis.
