"sitting", Jafo. The word is "sitting" not "setting".
I didn't want to say anything, but you've posted that mistake quite a few times before.

Bad analogy. Most cancers can be cured.

I'd argue that Sumlin has been recruiting his cure for the past few weeks.

Mizzou is much better than anyone gave them credit for. Last year was frustrating because sec fans were so condescending, but this year's team is what we've been accustomed to, although I think this team may be the best of the Pinkel era.

If you haven't noticed, they're still condescending to you. We're still pledges in this fraternity.

So A&M finishing 3rd/4th in the West, and Mizzou rising during an injury plagued East, proves the SEC isn't what we thought it was?
Really tired of the injury talk. No one worried about all of Mizzou's injuries last year with all the bashing.

Well I have 12 doctorate degrees and I'm worth $8,000,000,000,000.

See, here it is again. We just can't help it I guess. So what will the excuse be when A&m wins 8 or 9 games next year with a first year starting QB?
AM should be able to win their 4 ooc cupcake games. After that all they have to do is beat 4 SEC teams, probably, Arkansas, MSU, and if they schedule KY and one other (they have 4 openings on the 2014 schedule right now) and they'll easily have an 8 win season. That's not really much to brag about, IMO.

They won't stop giving you shite until you get over it and stop letting it get to you.

Yeah, I know. But can they play 2 days from now and the rest of the year? That would be excellent.

I've chalked this year up as Sumlin's sophomore slump year. We'll be back next season.

I agree mostly, but if I was a Mizzou fan I'd be a bit perturbed by now. Why was Mizzou down last year? Clearly because of injuries. Did they get a break here? Oh, hell no.
Why did Mizzou beat Georgia and Florida? Clearly it was because Georgia and Florida had so many injuries. Only their's were the All-American SEC type of injuries, not some wussie Yankee injuries.
I'm rooting for Mizzou... until Nov. 30.

This is a dumb question to ask right now. Manziel is an absolute stud and A&M still can't win the West. They may be able to remain competitive after he leaves, but anyone that thinks their success will increase is kidding themselves.
For the most part, the SEC East has been weak since UF with Tebow. Mizzou is a very much improved team, but I think UGA beats them if they were healthy.
I think joining the SEC has invigorated both programs, but I think this question needs to wait to be asked for another 10 years.
Also, Arkansas and USC have been decent but never really in consistent contention for an SEC title since joining. I expect the same from these two new schools.

I'm not saying we win the west next year, but we're recruiting on the level needed to reload year in and year out.

No doubt about it for me.

Define "consistent"? If you mean on the level of Miles/LSU or Saban/Bama - then no, they won't be consistent contenders. But I think both can and will challenge for the SECCG on occasion (and it looks like Mizzou almost certainly will this year). We'll see.
For the OP: It has already been said, but we always thought you guys were rednecks. Not necessarily dumb rednecks. Mizzou has been good within the last decade, you guys just weren't paying attention. Their success doesn't surprise me. A&M got a fantastic player's coach and of course JFF playing QB. It's a damn shame A&M has an historically bad defense in what is probably his last year. But skip back through Sherman and Fran and A&M had some fairly good teams, too. Coaching matters, apparently.
