Doesn't Aggy only average 80-85K between the turnstiles.

But what happened to this notion that aggy would show up in a parking lot to see a game against St. Mary's?

No one has ever claimed this.

On average, more than a quarter of aggy's announced attendance the past two seasons is no-shows.

The luster is wearing off and aggy needs a shiny new toy. Even Major Aggy blamed the waning interest on Sumlin. Always a scapegoat.

Hence, aggy filing a bill this session in the state legislature for the third time since their exodus to force the Longhorn game to continue.

A&M has had top 5 attendance for the last 5 years or so

There were tens of thousands of empty seats at the Clemson game in College Station.

Read the link.

“Despite the large difference, A&M led the eight in-state Football Bowl Subdivision in scanned ticket percentage last season, according to a 2018 survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal.”

You poor thing. TEXAS was not part of the survey.

This is about YOU and your false bravado.

A&M reports attendance the exact same way every other school does: tickets sold.

17,000 empty seats at the historic aggy loss to Clemson.

Do you ever stop, “Smart Post?”
Grab a Friday night beverage,
Texas A&M University pulls in tens of thousands of people per football game—which is amongst the NCAA’s top draws.
Why does this bug you? How does this affect your life?
If I could send you a couple of cyber shots of a prime vodka, I would.
You need it.

No shite, Sherlock.

The point is, just like your revenues as correctly reported are inflated, so is your attendance.

Aggy is fake news. And wholly ignorant and brainwashed.

You would think that, with the EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND for the Longhorn Network that the largest U.S. Cable or Satellite distributor would carry it, as we approach 7 years since it was launched.

Yet, for some reason, Xfinity, which pretty much owns Houston, is nowhere to be found.

It was very heartening last year in Korea that AFN refused to broadcast any program that was on the Longhorn Network. Even AFRTS knows better than to force that shite on servicemembers overseas.

If a&m’s attendance is inflated, so is your and every other school’s.

I’m not sure why you think this is some “gotcha” moment.

All we know for sure is that A&M sold more tickets than Texas last year. Which is hilarious considering the number of people that live in a 20 mile radius from your stadium.

I don't recall seeing $8 tickets at HEB for Aggie Football at Kyle. I do however, recall seeing that for t.u. football at DKKKR.

That’s actually surprising to me—I didn’t realize that.
Do you know why that decision was made?
Limited resources?
I genuinely hope there are enough other online options available that military members abroad who happen to be fans of UTex are able to watch the horns play.

I’m just glad you’re able to see the Ags each week, CGSC.
Thank you for your service.

AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio and Television Services) toes a very fine line when broadcasting shows.

They pay a much lower fee to broadcast live events, network television, premium channel television, movies and even streaming programs (they broadcast The Marvelous Ms. Maisel and Star Trek: Discovery) because they broadcast without any advertisements, so they don't have to pay those fees.

On their news channel, they are required by law to provide equal time to not only the three cable news channels, but every network news broadcast.

As part of that contract, they are required to show as many Academy sporting events as possible, to include all football games. (Oklahoma had to provide the PPV game against Army for free)

When broadcasting, they must make every effort to appeal to fanbases in the following order: Service Academies, National Interest and quality of matchup.

AFN is not allowed to endorse any non-DOD element on behalf of the DOD, and showing anything from the Longhorn Network, even tape-delayed, can be interpreted as the DOD officially endorsing them. (and given the large number of A&M graduates in the Armed Forces, many of them in very senior roles, the last thing an AFRTS executive wants to hear is an irate Colonel or General Officer because of a certain bias)
