Yes, that is true. Also, aggy thinks the SEC will forsake its quarter-century relationship with CBS so aggy can preen online.
Such a relationship is not worth throwing away over a few million dollars a year, similar to aggy leaving the Big 12 and severing its century-old relationship with other Texas schools.
But aggy gonna aggy.

Their contract starts this year I believe. That was the final year according to the report.
No this is the first year of it in full. Contract started in 2017. The new contract is the sole reason. Once the sec ups their contract with cbs or whoever gets those game pay will go way up. Sec only gets 55 millions a year for those games. Which is pennies.
Eta just re read sorry my tablet does not work with my fingers too well.

A&M doesn't understand the SEC needs Texas around and the Big 12 to survive.
So their attacks on the Big XII and Texas might actually screw them in the long run.

what bowls did you go to in 2015 and 2016?
That is immaterial because minus proceeds from bonds issued (debt) that aggy put on its balance sheet (which flowed directly through to the contractors), The University of Texas had higher revenues than aggy during those years.

What he conveniently forgets to mention is that cbs didn’t gain any more inventory with the addition of A&M and mizzou, so there was no incentive to renegotiate on their end. They have the same number of sec slots that they did in 2011.

Let me put it to you this way... Without aggy, every SEC school is looking at just a few million dollars less in revenue. A couple or three, at most.
Without TEXAS, the Big 12 would cease to exist.

The contract ends in a few years.
CBS is trying to pay 4 million for a game again.
Mizzou and A&M name is not big enough.
Why do you think A&M is wanting to start the series with Texas again.
So...that will be a first tier game for the SEC in College Station.

Does anyone know the revenue breakdown in the Big 12?
It’s my understanding that Texas doesn’t share any revenues

Who gives a shite what cbs is trying to do? What does this even matter?
CBS will pay or the sec will take their product to the open market.

Revenues are shared equally in the Big 12, except third-tier television revenues from the rule allowing schools to create university-based networks or alliances exclusive to their programming output (such as the Longhorn Network).
The Big 12 numbers are $36.5 million per school, plus whatever each school gets from its individual rights deal. Those are worth millions.

The open market is the same ..
You know why Alabama is playing Texas and ND right before first tier rights end.

Hell of a collection of programs you’ve got there.
This could not be said for any P5 conference except the shitty one which you are currently a member of.

SEC folks, do not let aggy's need for more revenue to offset its spending splurge and to measure dicks with TEXAS lead you into severing your CBS relationship.
Some things are worth more than money, but aggy is expert at burning bridges, so don't listen to them.

Without aggy & mizzou, there is no sec network.

aggy was a no one in the Big XII and they are a no one in the SEC

Read this very closely, SEC folks. Schools such as Florida (the Sunshine Network deal) actually took a pay cut to release its rights to the SEC to create the network, and aggy has the nerve to say this?
Wow, just wow. This is but one reason I'm glad aggy is gone forever. They are your problem now.

Thank you for the clarification.
So Texas is taking advantage of the rest of the league because of their contract with ESPN for the Longhorn Network?
How much do they get per year for their network?
