Next year expect a 8-4 team with 4 loses in conference
Texas is not losing four games next year. Their schedule was a gift, but they are going to compete for championships. They are not going to steamroll the conference, though. They will be just another first tier team (top six) in the SEC, nothing more.

Nah, they’ll be “elite” again next year based on avoiding most of the Big 6.
Reality arrives in 2026 when their “Welcome to the SEC” joining gift expires and they play the schedule like OU got this year.
To your first comment... Couldn't agree more..
As for your second one... It would only be fair if OU and Texas flip flopped schedules for 2026 and 2027... but the SEC isn't going to do that...

Texas has already competed in the SEC.
Making it to overtime in the SEC Championship Game is the very definition of being competitive in the SEC.

They never played Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say Texas would have been a 5th loss for Louisiana State.

Agreed - had one of the easiest SEC schedules, although Florida and Oklahoma would have been different in other years.

As a Texas fan, i think playing Georgia twice will help Sark see where the improvement is needed. We didn't have the year we wanted but still great first year. College Football is hard to predict but we are situated IMO, to compete with the best .
Smart coaches always look at setbacks and learn from them. In the long haul Sarkisian and Texas will benefit. Just like Georgia and Smart learned from Saban.
Not having your LT hurt you last night, and (It might have been my imagination) Ewers seemed skittish late in the game when it was on the line.
Again...that might have been me reading too much into it.
