I don't know if anything has been ruined, but the massive changes are not only a result of NIL and the transfer portal.

It all started with better TV contracts and then massive coaches' salaries and massively improved facilities. Only a matter of time before the players got their share.

Yep. It is professional football now and as a professional league it is second banana.

NIL and transfer portal and the insane number of teams in the playoffs now have hurt CFB a ton. I watch the NFL now more.

You’re a better man than I am. That shite is turrible. I have it on for background noise sometimes. My daughter hates the NFL, my wife actually watches KC because she wants to see Taylor and Travis Swift. frickin gross

Why weren’t many of you asking these questions about the bagman system? Why didn’t Bama fans want a salary cap for the bagman? I sure didn’t see Auburn putting in a cap when they paid Cam.

The past is over and the sport is not going back to the days where UGA can give cars to players while SMU gets the death penalty. Your NCAA protectors are now impotent.

I love seeing fans of teams who benefitted from the bagman system whining about NIL and the portal. It’s just awesome watching reality slap you guys in the face now that you have to play on an even field. If teams like Indiana, Vandy, GT can emerge within only a few NIL and transfer cycles, just watch what happens over the next decade as more and more mid level teams decide to get payback.

And with you guys constantly hiring and firing coaches every 3 years you’ll soon feel the financial pain that comes with 8-4 records and season ticket sales dropping. The smartest thing any team could do right is for UGA to lock up Kirby for decades and beg him not to retire because he gets it and can actually coach. Ole Miss will continue to live in the Kiffen soap opera while ultimately winning nothing, Bama will fire Deboer within 3 years, Auburn will continue to retread coaches every 3-4 years, Florida will continue to look for the next savior for decades, LSU will probably make another Kelly type hire.

There is a lot of money out there in schools that don’t have to brag about stadium sizes and as they see the success of some of these newcomers you better believe your hotshot recruits are going to be “improperly contacted” and offered.

Why do you hate the NFL? It is better than CFB now, did not used to be, but now its is basically the NFL's minor league...it has been ruined a ton.

NIL and portal have combined to wreck college football. It's not about who has the best team of student athletes. It's about who has assembled the best collection of mercenaries for a given season.

If I wanted to watch professional sports I'd watch NFL. I much preferred watching college kids playing with their heart for their team and their university. Now, it's nothing but watching minor league NFL football with players who have no allegiance to anything other than the dollar.

No, its made teams like ole miss have a chance for top players. Seeing as youre in school you may not have had to go through the last 30 years of the same 4 fkn teams getting everyone worth a damn

I think the transfer portal has more than NIL. One transfer and then after that you sit out a year. NIL will keep getting bigger with more Billionaires getting involved. It won't be like the old days. But in a way NIL and transfer portal has helped teams . Who would have thought before the transfer portal and NIL that teams like Indiana, Vanderbilt would be in the Top 25 let alone the Top 10 of College Football. Sure there will still be the blue bloods of the sport but it has allowed other schools get a chance at a Championship with the 12 team playoff system. College Football is still fun to watch and there is still upsets. I still think it's better than the NFL !

Because it’s set up for drama. The pre game shows, the bullshite. Watch how badly some of the games are officiated. A lot on this board bitch about the SEC. NFL refs are clearly on the take for certain teams and it’s not even hidden. Refs are never accountable in the league

It wouldn't surprise me if the NFL has a gambling like the NBA has been busted for. If the Refs aren't gambling then maybe a friend and/or family member is . Just look at the bad calls and No calls in today's games. Until there is real accountability for the Refs it be the same ole same ole!

This. ^^^^ The refs are NEVER held accountable in the NFL. They do Goodell’s bidding and he is the devil in all of this
