On the same note Mac Jones’ career in the NFL has shown me that he was not good in college
He was an All Pro one season in the NFL.
He absolutely owned every team he played in 2020. He beat LSU 55-17.
But tell yourself whatever you need to.

I’m picking up what NickPapaG is putting down. This isn’t a stats argument, it’s just the way people view players. It’s the “Oh shite, we have to play that guy”. The greats, at least the ones that are seen that way have a larger than life presence out there.
Tebow sucked in the pros, but he had the “it” in CFB. Same for Cam, Manziel, etc.
Henry is my favorite NFL back, he’s great but he didn’t have that “it” factor in college.

If you have to ask, then they aren’t in “that” category, spitting out stats makes it even worse.

I’m nowhere near the “greats” around here but I’ll take the compliment!

Correct, when you see it happen you just know.

I’m sorry that you don’t get it, but carry on with GIFs and stats. He isn’t to everyone else what you see him as, that’s okay.

Mac Jones was never and will never be an all pro. He was selected for the pro bowl after QBs dropped out. They let Tyler Huntley the backup qb for the Ravens in the pro bowl in 2022 thats how much it is valued. Jones is not good and benefited from a mickey mouse covid season.

Fair enough, I got pro bowl and all pro backwards. It happens to college football fans.
Speaking of which, where did all the Saints fans go “?

Walker averaged more yards per game than Henry and didn't play against the likes of MTSU, ULM, CHSO, FAU, WCU, CSU, GAST, CHAT.
You have as many 100 yard games vs those teams as DH does

a mickey mouse covid season.
One year after a national championship, LSU’s best player opted out for the season, the team went 5-5, and was ineligible for a bowl game.

Bama fans can be a little sensitive. I have no idea why with all that winning.
You say Henry is a great back but not an SEC legend like Bo and Walker are and a small, fragile part of them melts.
It is perplexing.

How can he run as fast as he does carrying a football. He is truly amazing.

Walker was a legend who almost single-handedly led Georgia to 3 national titles.
Since it's such a small amount of data, we can review these seasons.
In 1980, they played 1 ranked team. #9 Notre Dame and won 17-10. (2 TD)
In 1981, they played #1 Clemson and lost 13-3. (0 TD) They played #2/4 Pitt and lost 24-20(2 TD).
In 1982 they beat #8 Clemson, 13-7(0 TD). However, Walker was injured and only used as a decoy. They lost to #1 Penn St 27-23 (1 TD).
If I missed a big game, please feel free to point it out. I try to be fair and use end of season rankings even if they weren't ranked at the time(like Clemson in 1981).
He averaged 1 TD per ranked team he played.

Easily in the same caliber as Herschel but u wouldn’t just call him the better back by naming ranked schools they played and running for more yards as if that just ends the conversation. Henry played on the easily the best teams in football. All-SEC 1st team QBs, Best offensive line, top 5 receiver corps, best front 7, and best secondary.
Then why doesn't Alabama produce the same thing every year? Why don't schools produce the same thing every year? Why was Walkers SEC rushing record such a big deal that couldn't be touched until Henry did it, and now it's meaningless?
Kind of weird that a team that has nothing but great players also makes it so that none of those players can ever be considered the greatest. Magically, the greatest players just happen to play for bad teams.
Or maybe it's just bullshite.
