A chick wrote that. Clearly.

Do you honestly think she would risk everything by lying not only to the public but law enforcement as well just to publicize a fake racist letter that may or may not generate sympathy?

For "virtue signalers" like Charlene Sumlin, it's about riling up the mob despite what the truth is and then attempting to overwhelm the authorities into siding your way.

I have a personal experience where a friend did this for several months, sending herself threatening letters. It was incredible to watch it unfold.

The biggest clue that this is fake is the return address.
The Sumlins are seriously expecting us to believe that a letter, sent from the Houston Country Club, the day after Labor Day, DURING THE MIDDLE OF HURRICANE HARVEY, somehow made it to the Sumlin residence in less than 24 hours.

To be fair, anyone can write any return address on an envelope

The only way that letter made it to the Sumlin residence by the 6th of September (when the Sumlins claim it arrived) in response to the 3 September UCLA collapse is if it was hand-delivered.
It's simple logistics.
Under normal (non-Hurricane Harvey) conditions, the earliest that letter would have left Houston would be September 5th at 11 am. It would have arrived at the Sumlins the next day (6 September). Add in the fact that Houston was underwater and a letter would have taken about a week and a half to deliver to College Station.

No, I get that. All I'm saying is that the return address really doesn't mean much.

It does when you look at the proper context. It was meant to implicate an organization that had very few black members.

Maybe they are members at the Club but were staying in CS that weekend because of the hurricane?
For the record, I think its sketchy as shite but I'm just saying there are other possibilities.

why isn't the stamp canceled out?

Good question? I will note however, I have received a few items in the mail where I noticed the stamp wasn't cancelled out, in fact it looked like the post office hadn't touched the envelopes other than deliver them.

We will both have to agree, it is sketchy as frick.

That still doesn't excuse the fact that Charlene Sumlin deliberately made no attempt to rebuke the national media who painted THE ENTIRE A&M STUDENT FAN AND ALUMNI COMMUNITY as racist. She tacitly encouraged it.
Kevin Sumlin still, to this day, has not made any statements defending the school he works for.

No doubt. Like I said, the whole thing is fishy.
I haven't read the thread, has there been anything about it since?

Nope, but I'm sure the Sumlins will not rest until the real culprit is found...
