I disagree. Immediately after the Tennessee game Chris Todd was reinjured or something, because for that three game losing streak against Arkansas, Kentucky, and LSU he was turrible.

People will dismiss Malzahn for now, but in five years that guy will have a BCS program rolling.

idk know if they have. he is a pretty good oc. This year though is short comings are being covered up by the awesome play of cam newton.....he is such a force its easy to call plays for him. Malzahn's offense does well at putting up stats but without that big power guy at some position he can't score on long drives which hurts the defense and hurts the moral of the offense.

I'm pretty sure Leach took Texas Tech to heights they probably won't see again.

the question will be when malzahn is a real coach, will that team field a defense or just two offenses.

Consistent nine win seasons with the occassional elite season is about all Texas Tech will ever achieve.

He's such an expert in how to make defenses look silly, maybe he knows how to play it well.

i think if he has input his defenses will be extremely fundamentally sound and bend don't break defenses....that seems to be what stops him.

Gerry Faust went from high school coach to head coach at Notre Dame. He didn't do well at ND, but it's hard to imagine any big time program today hiring a head football coach from a high school.

Unless something happens and the war eagles tank, Gus is got to be high on everyones list. UGA take a shot at him, or Clemson take a shot at him, or MiamiU or Florida brings him in to be waiting... Or TexasTech or Texas or Kansas State

.661 is a hell of a lot better than .550.
So, yeah...
ETA: Why is Mike Leach even a part of this conversation. Malzahn doesn't run the Air Raid and nothing about their philosophies are even remotely similiar.

It's a significant improvement, no matter how you slice it.
Leach was a fine HC, I cannot even grasp why you'd think otherwise. And once again, Leach isn't Malzahn. He's not even similiar to Malzahn coaching wise, personality wise, or physique wise. The only real similiarity is that they both coached offenses that could move the ball well.

Exactly why he's gonna be a stud wherever he ends up. So thankful Chizik was smart enough to bring him in. If he hits anywhere near what he did with Malzahn, we should be good for years to come.
