Last year, many Alabama fans expressed interest in getting away from pass happy, finesse offensive schemes and getting back to your foundation of a battering running game and playing elite, physical defense.

I was curious how DeBoer and staff fit in these areas so I pulled their statistics from 2020-21 Fresno State and 2022-23 Washington.

Now obviously, he will be working with much more talent so I expect all of these to improve but he definitely doesn't seem to fit that mold.

This will definitely not be a joyless murderball style of play.

I'll reserve further judgement for when he gets a defensive staff in place. I am optimistic.

Gotta adapt to the times amigo. Ill take a high flying offense with the way the games rules and officiating has progressed.

The transition from the current roster set-up to what DeBoer wants to do is going to require a major overhaul, starting with the OL/QB. I’m afraid the Bama fanbase won’t have the patience for the growing pains.

If I were an Alabama fan, I'd definitely want him to hire a DC, doesn't even have to be an elite hire, good will do.

If he brings his guys from Washington, I'd be somewhat underwhelmed.
