I was told Auburn didn’t play as hard in the Bama game cause the season was virtually over.

That's great and may be true for you. Personally, most years I would rather beat UGA than Bama because I grew up in, and live in, Georgia. I still know who my school's rival is though and wouldn't try to pretend otherwise.

Season was fine.
AU is a great BB team. I genuinely felt bad for Bruce and Broome, great people, did not want to see them cry. Hell of a coach and a player.
But, honestly, our infatuation with UTk is historic as is UGAs with UF. You're third wheeling it and we understand.
Chin up, keep a stiff upper lip. I honestly think AU is the team to beat in the Tourneyb if UF doesn't stay hot. It's all ahead of you. Just don't let Flagg run a train on you.

Not saying it's not a rivalry. But, smoking cigars is a real thing for the main thing. Hated blowing that UTk game much more than losing the 1 v 2 game.
Best of luck, honestly. Would much rather AU cut nets than anyone outside of Bama this year. Although, I genuinely think it's UF or Duke's to lose.
