Well, when he is trying to argue nothing will happen and he won't get in trouble for it because he already paid it back, it doesn't really matter if he lied or not. It is still a violation, with or without cooperation and truthfulness.

Agree, not arguing point that at all.

How was he able to repay a short term loan of $500?
Student loan money was deposited in to his account?

If you dont have to pay for meals or housing it is really hard to spend $500 in short term. Why did he need so much?
Great question. Maybe his Yukon Denali is equipped with dual fuel tanks and both were on empty?

LSU was in a pretty similar situation and the coach got fired, player got kicked off team, lost 3 scholarships and was put on a 3 year probation.
Y'all are already on probation

well, it all depends. LSU self reported in a similar situation, fired the coach, and the player never regained eligibility. The NCAA left the fball program alone, which is what should and will happen with Alabama; however, just because they self reported doesn't mean that will have the desired effect on HaHa's eligibility, although he probably won't be ruled permanently ineligible

Irrelevant. And should the NCAA come asking I highly doubt they will find anything due to the fact such information would be hidden from them if he got the money in ways that are against the rules.

Saying the NCAA has the burden of proving he didn't pay the money back was stupid.

I will agree with the lawyer on this one.

a) something will happen
b) it will be less severe because of his honesty and cooperation

The NCAA won't touch anything outside of a "slam dunk" case these days. I don't see this being that case. Multiple sources reporting a 2-4 game suspension, at most.

If every program was as dutiful to ethics as Bama there would be zero tolerance for cheating.

Do you honestly think that Julio Jones and Mark Ingram bought those brand new Tahoes with their own money when they were 19 years old?

I'm betting this one has a Rant Life of around 2 or 3 years

i really can't believe a couple Bama fans are now trying to make sense of it by thinking Dix was waiting on student loan money. i mean, really?

Didn't Fluker have 4 different bank accounts for his various payments?
The bank records Dixon gave to the university are probably the legit ones for his loans and stuff.

I'm not denying that there are parallels between the two situations, but we are not currently on probation. We may get exactly what LSU got....whatever we suggest to the NCAA we self impose.

Everything is speculative right now. Maybe they're right?

Julio got the Denali right before signing with bama. It was a gift from an uncle in Oklahoma.

multiple sources don't know shite, just like all of us. i mean this just came to light last night. you really think a journalist or the operator of a premium website has inside knowledge from the NCAA? sources also frequently get information from message boards like this, seen it plenty from ESPN "insiders"
