C'mon man. Don't act like LSU didn't almost give the game away to Miss State who could easily finish last in the SECw.

It was the first game of the season for LSU. Guys played a little sloppy and they had a ton of penalties. Auburn gets that same pass for Louisville. But not freaking JSU. That can't be ignored.

At what point does Auburn realize, the problem isn't the coach

It took Bama about 30 years

The point is that it is kind of strange, but common that Auburn goes through these cycles.

Auburn's play against JSU was embarassing because they are an FCS school, but they are far from a lower tiered FCS school. Doesn't take away from the embarassment though.

ETA: just ask Ole Miss.

Every Auburn coach from Pat Dye to Chizik went undefeated in the SEC at least once, right? And all were fired or pushed out. What's even more interesting to me is that Bowden, Tubs and Chizik all had perfect seasons on their resumes and were dismissed.
So four coaches in 30 years?

Jerry Stovall - national coach of the year, fired one year later?
Bill Arnsparger - UF AD job (when they were just under NCAA sanctions) more appealing than the LSU HC job?
Mike Archer - pushed out just two years after winning the SEC?
Curley Hallman - hah
Gerry DiNardo - finished #12 & #13 in consecutive years then canned two years later?
Nick Saban - LSU was a stepping stone to the NFL
Les Miles - ???

lower than FBS. but anyway you spin it, having to come from behind to beat an FCS team in OT is not a good thing.

Only one coach on that list was fired after winning an SEC Championship. EVERYONE from Dye to Chiz has at Auburn.

Y'all have no problem getting a good coach but are so concerned with keeping up with Bama that you don't stick by them.

I'd agree that the same thing ALMOST happened at LSU in 2010. We'd had back to back subpar seasons and were winning ugly at the start of 2010. Bama was winning Natty's. Everyone wanted Les gone but he turned it around and saved his job. Not sure he would have gotten that chance at Aburn.

So you're saying Auburn coaches over the past 30 years have been more successful than LSU coaches?

Can you let me know what their final last year or two records looked like? Can you also compare their average tenure to the average tenure for other SEC programs?

TIA
