Coach O was a horrible hire only a cash strapped school would make. Ole Miss figured that out 10 years ago, pretty sad

I hate the Orgeron hire. But I’m also not trying to validate giving Gus Malzahn $8mil a year.

Difference is we have the money to fire him. LSU not so much. Your kids will talk about the Coach O years and how lean they were

Gus Malzahn $8mil a year.

If this number keeps growing, he's going to be making Saban money.

What is guaranteed is at least 4 losses per season.

So the AD goes to a press conference and decides to "clear up" some details, but he doesn't know what the details are?

“I don’t remember the percentage but it’s above 50, but well under 100,” Leath said.

7 years for $49 Million is $8 million a year, now?

So, your victory is that you have enough money to fire the coach you just signed to a long term contract 2 months ago?

Leath isn't our AD, he's the president. The press conference had nothing to do with Malzahn's contract, it was for Allen Greene, the new AD.

The way it read, though, was your President brought it up. Why would he do that if he didn't know the particulars? You would think he would be very familiar with the contract of the highest paid employee at his University.

Bad look for him to bring something up when he doesn't know the details.

ETA
After rereading the article, he might not have brought it up. It doesn't make it clear, but I am guessing he was asked about it.

I think one of our beat writers talked to him at the press conference so it wasn't really an announcement. OP did a poor job providing the details ITT.

No he only had one hand and you clearly have 2 in that picture.

Yeah, after I reread the article it did look like he was asked about it. I guess that is the reporter's job, but the reason they were there was to introduce the AD. The reporter should have let the AD have his moment, imo. Not the President's fault like I thought.

Gus and Auburn is the worst marriage in sports.

It will be over within in 3 years guaranteed.

Then we will fire him and hire yet another coach that will win the SEC and very likely go undefeated.
