My understanding is he was hired to get his son to sign with USCE? He’s not even the QB coach anymore from my limited knowledge. I could be wrong...

Jake needs to bring a couple offensive tackle grad transfers with him or the deal is off.

We could definitely use em' and we could certainly use a QB like Jake. Maybe his Dad can talk him into coming along for the ride

So what do you think Mike, how is Gus going to possibly survive next year?

It would seem odd to me that Jake Bentley‘s dad is coming and not bringing Jake with him. I think it takes a bold move like this from Gus to stay head above water in 2019. I don’t think it will ultimately work because I think Gus has too many problems. But it’s better than plugging ahead with what we currently have in the QB hopper.

Bottom line: I think having Bentley as QB gets us to a winning season versus a losing one. But I don’t think it gets us to Atlanta in November.

I just pulled him up and he was at Auburn as an analyst under Gus in 2014

My experience is from playing against his Byrnes teams as a HS football player:

His offenses are extremely fast tempo, built around the passing game. The running game is essential to his offense, but it is often setup by the quick passing game. All of his teams averaged well over 300 ypg passing. I hope your backs can be good receivers otherwise his scheme will falter quick.

It was why his son played at Opelika...

Now a question, since someone has a 247 account, I had been hearing this guy and he is front page on 247

Oh yeah I’m sure Petrino would just love listening to Gus micromanaged the offense.

“Yeah forget all those passing routes, Bob. We’re going to run counter and then a quick screen.”

I wish. Gus doesn't have the balls to make a great hire like that

Yeah this would be an underwhelming hire for Auburn.

But hey, maybe we can get Lattimore as RB coach?
