We brag about everything, we always have and always will. Do you think the hatred for Alabama fans just emerged when Saban arrived? People have hated Alabama fans for much longer than Saban.
Bandwagon fans abound too

Well, as of today LSU just extended its lead in average rating for the 2026 class.
You guys were solidly in 1st place at this time last year. Then three of your four highest rated recruits flipped.

I don't remember my team claiming to be a "standard" before every home game, standards don't go 4 straight seasons without a national title

Name one p4 football program that has not gone 4 or more seasons between national championships. Just one.

Clemson, won 2016 AND 2018

Probably because recruiting as a hobby for fans was in its infancy back in those days. Rivals didn't release their first class rankings until the year 2002 and they were the first major online recruiting service.

Florida State was the standard for college football in the 1990s and they went five seasons between their national titles in that decade.

I asked you to name a program that had NOT gone 4 or more years between national championships during the history of their program Clemson went 85 years, from 1896 to 1981, without one. Then 35 years, between 1981 to 2016.
There are a number of programs that were top programs that weren’t winning a national championship every four years. Between 1995 and 2005, a period of 11 years, 11 different teams won either the AP or BCS title.

But Bama calls themselves “the standard” though, are you lowering the standard now?

Alabama is currently the best all time college football program. It was arguable before Saban, now there is no question about it. Until someone else, and currently Ohio State and Notre Dame are the only immediate threats, surpasses them Alabama will remain the standard. For the last few years Georgia has been at least as good as Alabama, and arguably better.
But they still do not have the overall history of Alabama.
Don’t worry, LSU will never have to deal with the pressure of being the best football program.

A history of claiming dubious national championships? ????

You should bump your old 100+ page thread about all of Alabama’s national championships.
