However, if Yahoo says there's a tape of him admitting to being a rapist, we're probably going to be inclined to believe them and expect it to come out in due time.
Also, am I remembering wrong? Was the audio not out there in the beginning? Or was it always just the transcript?

To be clear, with the rapist metaphor, it would be Yahoo reporting a third party claimed he's a rapist via transcript of audio nearly no one has heard first hand. Not an admission of guilt from himself. Big difference.

No, that's the kicker: no one save a few people have actually heard the audio clip and certainly not in full. What's in the tape has (either in full or part) been "reported."
