That's still a lot.

He also aged from 17 to 19 and went to college that'd not an unusual growth for normal teen much less a college athlete.

You know there are HS graduates who probably can't remember Tennessee beating Florida?

Right and the 172 is from December of 2012. Grier's roster weight in August of this year (when the article was written) was 203 - 172 + 31 = 203, over 20 months as he aged from 17 to 19

For once in my life, I'll take the AJC over an anonymous message board poster.

But who cares? Even 30 lbs. of muscle is a shite-ton to gain for someone his age. Without a little help, that is.

Most kids gain the Freshman 15 due to pizza and beer. Grier gained the Dirty 30 by taking banned substances.

Where are people getting him gaining 43 pounds from? He showed up at 180 last year and is listed at 203 right now.

FWIW, ESPN Baton Rouge discussed it today. They said he was listed at ~175 last year, and this summer his dad posted on social media a picture of him at the gym with a caption saying he was up to 215.

Anyone thinks he was orally taking something he got at gnc and not needling it up is pretty gullible.

He has been on campus for two years. Here is last year's roster, he's listed at 200. People are using his lowest listed weight as a recruit from two years ago and comparing it to something his dad posted on Twitter this year.

Grier knew what he was putting into his body.

But the punishment for this is insane. One calendar year AND a loss of an additional year of eligibility? Just suspend him the rest of the year.

Right, NCAA came out and said he will still be a redshirt sophomore next year.
