quote:

I understand your angst, but I'm pretty sure you do not understand my points. Gangs and armies both have a type of "discipline" and "unity of purpose." But they are fundamentally and organizationally very different in the details.

That difference goes all the way to the core of the individuals, how they act day-to-day and in different situations. Guess which one demands adherence to the small change of the rules, objectives, on and off the field and which one is less concerned with details and more concerned with appearance.

This may come as of a shock to you, but you are not actually on the Alabama team. You are a fan. You are from Louisiana. You are no different than the rest of the people who come from that state. Your chosen fan interest does not change that.
quote:

And if you think my "culture" is the same as football players from the River Parishes, you don't know a damn thing about New Orleans. And that is not a criticism of the players from the River Parishes... it is simply an observation... And if you do not know what life is like and what goes on down those little lanes off I-10/12, you may not understand a small but fundamental weakness of LSUs teams the last 15 years... in my humble opinion.

here is the thing, maybe not in that particular post, but in plenty of others you post on daily a basis, you speak of the culture of LSU fans, not LSU players. Fans do not have some innate culture. The "culture" you speak of is of the residents of that part of the country, more particularly the state of Louisiana and its residents, a culture of which you share with LSU fans whether you care to accept it or not. So every time you make some idiotic post about some inherent cultural characteristic of "LSU fans" you 1) sound like a complete moron; and 2) are talking about yourself at the same time.

So, like I said, I'm sure you hated being an Alabama fan in New Orleans, but maybe get a grip or move. Hell, look at your post history. It's all about LSU my man and pretty pathetic.

My comments do frequently concern the LSU fans, who I live, play golf, drink coffee with, and whom I like to exchange “courtesies.” I do follow LSU very closely because of a lot of reasons.

However in this case I am referring to the team and players, not fans. I think I know a little about the “culture” I’m speaking of. But I don’t really want to go down a path of discussing the different societies that coexist in S. Louisiana... so let’s just let it alone.

Some times I accidentally sound intelligent... I apologize... I should just stick to 29-0, refs, SEC office, etc. Merry Christmas my friends, I hope we beat the crap out of UCF.
