But hey knock yourselves out on the so called up grade over Spav.
So called?

I defended Spav and even I can say Mazzone is blatantly better.
You'll see Spav in all his glory first hand on November 26.

The game wasn't that close.
You mean tied 24 all, and UCLA receiver drops a TD pass on a crossing pattern with 40 seconds left in the game and it was not that close.

Now, THAT is a troll.
The game was 10-9 at half. We had a dominating 3rd quarter and UCLA had an impossible 3 minutes in the 4th quarter. I saw no game-defining domination by either team. Going to OT is the very definition of "close."

Spav was THAT bad. You expect an inexperienced OC to get better over time. It never happened with Spav.
Mazzone wasn't great either, this is agreed upon. We did some good things early, but it looked more like Mazzone and the offense took their foot off the gas. Horrible. But the play calling was good in OT.
He better not repeat this 4th quarter asleep at the wheel crap or we will lost a lot of conference games...

Too soon to tell anything
Knight needs several starts to be in the swing of things and it is a new system after all

Well the problem their is he want be calling the plays, did not even know he came to the PAC12. Dykes calls all the plays. But if he gives that job to Spav, than that is a gift based on Aggie fans.

I really didn't see much improvement over Spav.
I don't see how you can say that when it was clear the offense flowed far better w/him calling the game. We actually gained several first downs in short yardage running situations which almost never happened under Spav.
Hell, A&M went over 200 yards rushing which is something Spav only accomplished 7 times in 26 games. Those 7 times were against Lamar, Western Carolina, Ball St, SMU, West Virginia, and South Carolina twice.

I thought for sure we were screwed when your OC started using the TEs. That was a brilliant adjustment, but he needed to have an answer for when we started to counter the TE passing game. I honestly don't know how to counter that. Maybe bubble screens or sweep plays. I'm no football coach or guru.
Neither I am but I could tell he needed to due this sooner, at least some swing passes and quick outs. It was told that Mazzone's play book was going to be expanded to use under center formations and a power run game but we just don't have the guards to do it.

Chavis has had his hands full fixing our defense. The D has been a busted water main against the run. I was surprised we were able to halfway stop it. I am more inclined to believe it was inexperience at the OL position for UCLA, rather than vast improvement in the front 7. It remains to be seen.
As long as Chavis continues to mix in smart blitz packages stung a little more he will keep the Aggies close but not going to lie you guys have a kill schedule eve with the 2 cream puffs. I do not know enough about the SEC but your schedule is not for the faint of heart.
Thanks Soze for good banter.

One really good thing about Mazzon's offense it easy for the QB to master. Knight needs to drop the gun slinger mentality and work on accuracy because Mazzone's offense does not give him to much time to throw, not the Olines fault, mostly 5 on against 4-6 .
