wherever he goes he will have to sit out a year as he is true Soph and the 2 year bowl ban applies to Jr and Sr only who can transfer without sitting.
Don't understand why Sumlin called off the dogs near the end of the 3rd qtr. Even still I still didn't believe the class of this team could do what it just did even with TAMU taking pressure of the necks of UCLA.

Hard to get up for this game knowing so many players from Houston have been impacted in some way by Harvey. Hopefully they can be destracted in a good way come Sunday. Some Bruin fans thst I have on Bruin sites calling for the University to team up with Red Cross for collection and donations on Sunday but have nit heard an official announcement.

So glad to here you and your family have been spared. My nephew has been living in Austin for the past 4 years and my sister could not rest this past week until yesterday when Harvey started moving east. I pray for the people of Houston and proud to see how Texans rally around to their communities. Great representation of what being an American is all about.

With the amount of devastating rain that is falling on Houston and surrounding areas how is that affecting College Station? I have an nephew living west in Austin and he said the ran is heavy but no flooding.

Read up on your team and it appears your oline will be dominate this year, as UCLA d-line is deep, and talented its not as beefed up as last year's team. The fact they have only practiced against a below average OLINE in what UCLA has it has not given us any real indication of how good they will be nor do we have that go to leader at the LBer level.

The most talented aspect is that of the DB's. It appears that UCLA finally has a true lock down CB in Holmes, but he is a true freshman and UCLA problems with its receivers not being able to get separation is a concern to just how good he really is.

Other than Josh Rosen being healthy not to many note worthy signs on offense, a walk-on WR has cracked the starting rotation from obscurity but he has great hands and runs good routes, questions talked about is his speed. From what I saw he has good game speed. RB are a mystery right now, 4 guys vying for the starting spot, the leader is a 3* guy getting potential nod over two 5*. could have had a walk-on start but he has to sit out as he transferred in from UC Davis.

No depth on the oline and they just lost their first person on the depth chart for the season. So they are only 7 deep at best and one of them the Miami transfer can't play that many downs for some reason. The other solid factor that was no used as much as it might be this year is the TE, UCLA went to a converted jack of all trades with Iese last year to having 3 solid TE this year. So that my help Rosen with more targets and also a more competent OC.

TAMU lose Garrett and Hall but still have lots of talent. Only issue I see is who the starting QB will be but under Mazzone his scheme is very QB friendly. The only issue I see is this being a road game and the Aggies have the ability to practice and prepare. The other issues Bruin fans have brought up was the quality of TAMU's DBs overall. Can't wait for the season to start this team will be different than what you saw last year though not sure it will be better.

I hope this finds many Texans okay as Harvey is causing havoc on your state, be safe and prayers to those being hit by Harvey.
you gave us a set back, Mora has ruined our season with his pussyman conservatism, can't have that in college football, he has lost us 2 games thus far.

I can't argue with the loss to aTm but that game should not have ended up that close, your D dominated UCLA. Our defense is much different than the one you faced, wish we would have played it from game one but woulda coulda does not count.
Mazzone is good coach for he first 3-4 years at his stops than his systems is figured out and he struggles for whatever reason. Just keep an eye on TOP and how long your D is on the field. Should get better as the season moves onto cooler temps.

I like our new OC, just that our OL sucks in a major way. Should be improved next year and a bit deeper as we get some OL healthy. But still not high end caliber.
your are missing one important stat TOP. Mazzone is a stat machine never hid that or lied about but it comes at a price. Luckily aTm has not had it cost them... yet. Come close twice.

Chavis may learn to go a little deeper on the bench to help the defense and its legs.
yeah, Klemm has received rave reviews for recruiting though its not reflective by the product on the field, most seemed to be projects and JAGS, most of us are calling for his replacement.

We had two above average RB in Perkins and Franklin, Perkins had great vision and patients and Franklin had that as well as great speed. Surprising that as bad as the lines UCLA has had that Franklin ended up as UCLA all time leading rusher and Perkins had he stayed for his senior year may have pushed Franklin's record.

You are right we have no uglies whether it is coaching or recruiting it all falls on the OL coach. Is Turner a good recruiter? I know Mazzone's scheme can hide OL flaws but that did not help our line last year and it is even worse this year.

I am routing for aTm this year. Really starting to like the fan base. Hope you can stay competitive year in year out.
WOW, just about thought Mazzone would ruin a great Chavis game plan by bone head play calling that stalls out drives. I have to say that even when aTm did not have its best edge rushers in sync or on the field Chavis still called a great game.

Mean while the Bruins are suffering from dropped TD passes as well as missed field goals, the defense has been very good since the aTm game but our Oline is god awful. aTm your line actually looks solid so far. Not great but not costing you games. The oline got Rosen knocked out of the game twice, missed most of the 3rd quarter and still passed for 400 yards but he still is holding onto the ball way to long. Most likely will be limited in passing come Saturday if not available with an injured wrist.

Not sure what the aTm fans are wanting long term with its current set up but I like what Chavis is doing. Good Luck. :nana: :dude:
also a surprise based on overall offense is how middle of the road ATM is with the red zone offense, only ranked 68 even with the high school team factored in, not very good. The good thing is they have two more high school games later in the season but man 5 of the last 7 games are going to be the real season. I like Sumlin and the Aggies but the real test for the Aggies lie ahead.
really surprised with the offense rankings after 5 games, is there a correlation with Mazzone's offense affecting Chavis defense? TOP has ATM at 111, that is pretty bad for a defense to have to be out on the field that long.

Alright. I read the rest of this. It has to be fake

I thought so too but I guess based on other SC posters this guy is serious either way still funny.

Sure we could have played better and had better coaching but you have to remember it was an uphill battle before the game even started. All the SEC powers that be that make a fortune off the SEC myth HAD to make sure we lost. And they did EVERYTHING in their power to help Alabama and hurt us.

The refs CLEARLY favored Alabama and used their authority to take us out of our rhythm and keep us from getting back into it. It was billed as a neutral site but it was anything but that. They purposely allowed the Alabama fans to fill the stadium. Why? To make it as much as possible a home game environment for Alabama and a loud hostile environment for us. The list goes on and on, on all the stuff they did to try to guarantee we would lose to the biggest SEC money maker. If we beat them that puts us back into the football blue bloods and diminishes Alabama's phony image. That helps the rising PAC-12 and hurts the SEC. And frankly that would be a catastrophe to all the NCAA honks that make a living pimping the SEC cash cow. They were not going to let us win no matter how prepared we were. That is a fact.

The score also indicates foul play. If Alabama won by 7-10 points, I would say maybe we just had a bad day - it happens. But USC losing by almost 50? No way does that "just happen." Ever.

Many of us probably feel the same way as me and I suspect there is plenty of evidence to support my feelings. With the right investigative work, it would be easy to uncover and prove.

If there are any lawyers here, maybe you can look into how to get the NCAA to nullify the game because of this. Or at least advise Heritage Hall on it. It would give the team a fresh start on the season and put our record back to 0-0. It would have to be done soon because the longer you wait, the less likely the NCAA will feel threatened enough to cave in. Right now they are sitting around high fiving each other on getting away with it. I guarantee a major lawsuit this week that threatens to expose them will take that smile off their faces. Especially if it comes from our grads who are some of the best lawyers in the country.

As further evidence, look at the lack of respect we were given. The Alabama team showed no respect for us. When Alabama was on defense they kept jamming our receivers instead of respecting their speed and giving space. Mind you, our receivers are some of the fastest and most talented in the country - everyone respects them. And when Alabama was on offense they deliberately tried to demoralize our team by putting in a freshman QB and then their third team QB and still slinging it downfield and running up the score. They were purposely trying to embarrass us on national TV. Trust me, that was on purpose by Kiffin. And the ABC/ESPN announcers got in on the act. They spent the entire game talking about how awesome Alabama is, and to rub it in, they spent about 10 minutes of OUR drive gushing over the stupid Alabama strength and conditioning coach! What a crock. It was the most embarrassing biased game calling I have ever seen.

Just writing about this sham is making me furious. We should all feel this way so it doesn't happen again.

Here is the link so that you know that I am not making this up.

Too soon to tell anything

Knight needs several starts to be in the swing of things and it is a new system after all

One really good thing about Mazzon's offense it easy for the QB to master. Knight needs to drop the gun slinger mentality and work on accuracy because Mazzone's offense does not give him to much time to throw, not the Olines fault, mostly 5 on against 4-6 .

I thought for sure we were screwed when your OC started using the TEs. That was a brilliant adjustment, but he needed to have an answer for when we started to counter the TE passing game. I honestly don't know how to counter that. Maybe bubble screens or sweep plays. I'm no football coach or guru.

Neither I am but I could tell he needed to due this sooner, at least some swing passes and quick outs. It was told that Mazzone's play book was going to be expanded to use under center formations and a power run game but we just don't have the guards to do it.

Chavis has had his hands full fixing our defense. The D has been a busted water main against the run. I was surprised we were able to halfway stop it. I am more inclined to believe it was inexperience at the OL position for UCLA, rather than vast improvement in the front 7. It remains to be seen.

As long as Chavis continues to mix in smart blitz packages stung a little more he will keep the Aggies close but not going to lie you guys have a kill schedule eve with the 2 cream puffs. I do not know enough about the SEC but your schedule is not for the faint of heart.

Thanks Soze for good banter.

Well the problem their is he want be calling the plays, did not even know he came to the PAC12. Dykes calls all the plays. But if he gives that job to Spav, than that is a gift based on Aggie fans.

The game wasn't that close.

You mean tied 24 all, and UCLA receiver drops a TD pass on a crossing pattern with 40 seconds left in the game and it was not that close.

WHAT THE frick DO YOU THINK I HAVE BEEN SAYING. DAMN ARE MOST AGGIE FANS THIS THICK? :spank: :banghead:

That is what this post was about. No way UCLA should have had the chance to win this game, except for Mazzone. Is this the wrong board to talk to knowledgeable Aggie fans? All I keep hearing back is he's better the Spav, I wish I would have watched more TAMU games last eyar to see how piss pour this guy was to think that Mazzone is a leg up. Granted Mazzone offense will put up stats, but he also disappears when you need him the most. Damn this hurts to much to even keep this conversation going.
