What's even more dumb is some select LSU fans cheering for Bama. If Bama wins out and ends up beating LSU, I wonder if those LSU fans that were rooting for Bama, would continue to root for them? Real smart.

Pretty dumb fricking comment since our grass eating coach is actually 2-2 against Lord Saban.

Where was Miles mentioned in this thread by me? This is about the FANS.

I would never want Bama to win if I was an LSU fan. They're the 2nd closest thing to a Rivalry that LSU has.

We have enough hate to spread it around. But Bama is more of a respect rivalry.

However Saban spent one week preparing for LSU and his bye week was spent preparing for AU. probably wasn't the best decision.

THIS. Everyone knows the SEC is good, you can stop slobering on Bama's knob now, it's really pathetic. I would love to see ol JoePa and the underdog BIG 10 boys takeem down. Don't call Bama, Arkansas, or anyone else a rival if your going to root for them every chance you get for "conference prestige". I could understand if Bama was playing Southern Cal or something. WE CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY...WE DON'T NEED BAMA'S HELP!

OOC? Yes. SEC? No, I'd want them to drop some games.

I only cheer for SEC teams during OOC games. Alabama losing to Penn State has zero fricking impact on LSU making it to the SEC championship, which you would realize if you were

Because the prestige of the American League has zero impact on the Sox ability to make it to the World Series. As a matter of fact, the worse the AL is, the better.

I don't call any other fanbase "friend". But complete OOC domination by SEC teams is beneficial to everyone in the conference.

People who say "the SEC is already respected, no need to root for *X University* anymore!" need to remember that we got here by beating everyone and winning 5 straight championships. SEC teams are now given the benefit of the doubt. That isn't a permanent distinction, shite can change.

If you can't see the benefits of SEC teams dominating OOC opponents, then you are putting that University of Florida education to waste.

It's permanent for now. Win the games on your schedule, and don't worry about sucking said team's dick.

I can see it, but I wanted UGA to lose to Boise. I won't root for anyone in the SEC, period. If the games fall for UF, so be it, but I won't root for other SEC teams.

Ummm...no. The SEC's "prestige" is not up for grabs with one Bama Penn game. We lost to Penn a few years back, and HOLY COW I CANT BELIEVE IT the SEC is still king. As long as the SEC wins NC games it will continue to be king. And the point here is that LSU WILL get in the NC by winning out this year, so we don't need to spoon with Bama.

Looks like somebody doesn't understand the definition of permanent.

No. I could just care less about other SEC schools. It's not that big of a deal. We can agree to disagree. I just think some LSU fans are crazy to root for what many see as a Rival to them.

How do you think we got to those BCSNCGs? Magic dust? Our fairy godmothers?

No, the SEC has beaten so many OOC opponents and plays at such a high caliber that our perception in the media earns us a bid every year. That perception can easily go away within a matter of one or two years.

That's why Alabama is not a real rivalry. You never root for a rival to win all their games.

I'm not saying I wouldn't root for Mississippi state, South Carolina, etc against OOC competition...But I reserve the right to root against Bama, Auburn, etc...I'm allowed to have a mind of my own, rather than rooting blindly for every SEC team, even ones I can't stand, because of "conference prestige".

THIS.

When it comes down to it, LSU's biggest rivals are USC, Texas, etc... This is the most desired, hated, heated, competition we could potentially face. Not Bama, because our stupid arse fans can't get it. It's about being the best...not hoping that everyone around you succeeds so you look like the best...

I hope every single team we play wins every single game except against us.

Newsflash: we don't have rivals. Just a bunch of people we don't like, and who don't like us.
