This is another bizarre argument. So what? You can only play who you get matched with whether that was in the bowl system, BCS, and now playoff system. I mean the last one we won was against the USC dynasty that had Reggie Bush on their team. What does it matter that they were in the Pac 10?
Yeah, Texas doesn't have a recent NC, nor as many as Alabama. But any list that doesn't include Texas as a top brand or a "blueblood" would be one using strange criteria for inclusion.

I have two cousins that graduated Texas Phi Beta Kappa, They were not impressed with Texas academically.
Yes Texas may be a top school, in Texas but outside the state it is just another diploma
Just for a question, in all those sports Texas plays, how many NC has Texas won in football, basketball and baseball?
Just for comparison, Alabama has won 13 NC in football during the poll era. LSU has won 7 baseball and Kentucky has won 8 basketball
Florida has won a NC in football, baseball and basketball, with several in basketball and football
LSU, Georgia have won NC in football and baseball.

If we are talking historically, sure OU is a top team. If we are talking recently Texas has the more recent National Championship, National Championship appearance, conference championship, and playoff appearance. OU is basically a softball school at this point.
