You know what the funny thing is? Of the 5 teams in each ranking system, it was the #1 team in each of them that didn't make it.
Highschool - #1 Texas
Overall - #1 Texas
Portal - #1 LSU
Maybe you're just wasting a shite ton of money.

The others in the top5 all made the playoffs, as was said originally. And the transfer portal is the one you least want to be #1 in. It just means you aren't developing talent. And you'll likely keep getting beat by teams that develop talent.

I'm pretty happy with our recruiting.
If you actually knew shite about recruiting, then you'd know Alabama has a better class this year than last. Overall there is a lot more "talent" in the portal this year, which you can tell by the points each team is getting.
Last year in the points, only 5 teams were above 300, with the highest being 314. This year 10 teams have points over 324, with the highest being 342, 12 teams over 300.
In 2024, the highest was 319, 5 teams above 300.
2023 the highest was 326, that was Alabama.
2022 A&M had 333, 5 teams above 300, etc.
This year, Alabama is at 330 with the 2nd least amount of commits thus far.
And while I gave Texas shite above for not making the playoffs, I'd be happy if I was them as well because HS recruits are an investment that won't pay off for a few years. They are going all in on Arch this year. And yet somehow LSU fans are the ones who can't shut the frick up.

Because LSU signed a top 12 high school class with only 15 commits. I know math is hard for you, so that correlates to LSU having the 2nd highest player average for the class. I.e. LSU signed a small class of very good to elite players. To supplement, they’re signing a monster transfer class, that is not only 1 and dones. It’s a mix of plug ins and younger players that will develop.
This is why you’re trying to downplay the portal. You aren’t smart enough to realize it goes hand in hand with high school development to build a stable roster these days. Well, that and Alabama is utterly failing at utilizing it so you want it to not matter.
