You just finished 6th in the West lol

Based on what?

Recruiting edge goes to us.
Wins in a season edge goes to us.
Excitement among local high school coaches goes to us.
Facilities edge goes to us

I mean, in the long run they are the better program no doubt. They will be back one day. But where we stand right now I don't see how you can confidently say they are rising faster.

I don't know if I've said all of this stuff before in one place. It felt good though.

They are things you should accept. You aren't all gay, that's ridiculous to say. You are all insecure nerds that needed a place after ROTC in high school ended. Its a very good school, but its ugly, boring, and eerily cultish.

Nope, but I am interested in what you base this off of.

Recruiting?
Winning?
Coaching hires/changes?

And took steps in the right direction to counter the weaknesses of our program...

Take the blinders off brah.

Right now, A&M has the better program. I won't debate that. But in 3 years after Strong has had time to recruit and get his guys in the program, I think they will be better off than A&M is. You have the better stadium than them, sure. But outside of that I think it's a wash as far as facilities go. And Charlie has been at UT for less than a year but his recruiting is still pretty impressive given the programs that he's going up against. A&M in the SEC, a rising TCU and Baylor and the occasional Oklahoma presence. Not to mention he has LSU and Ole Miss coming into Texas taking a few of his targeted recruits.

We are not "gay." Sure, we lay with beasts, tuck peen, wear the skin of dead fat chicks, and gargle jars full of rancid semen, but "gay" we are not, unless you are refering to the original meaning of the term--happy--which we are also not.

Thanks, gig'em, and frickLSU®.

Maybe he's basing it off of program success, notoriety, and the success of Charlie Strong at Louisville. Texas A&M might have more momentum recruiting in Texas right now, but once Texas returns to being competitive, they become a national recruiter on name alone. Its just easier to succeed there than A&M.

He is full on rebuilding and doing a good job of it. I think Sumlin has 2 more years before he's fired.

You have, I have seen it before almost word for word.

I am sure it does, given your Texas sympathies.

I personally have accepted most of those things, the ones that aren't hyperbole. I think most Aggies on here own up to most of the crap said about us.

You aren't all gay, that's ridiculous to say.

Some of us are gay though, which is fine.

A very small percentage were part of the corps. For most Aggies, aka the suburb kids, A&M for them was Texas State without the easy women and with harder classes. Most Aggies I know only know like 5% of the weird shite attributed to us.

so because the current direction of the two programs are different, it's logical you are no longer their little brother?

what's logical to me is that you are admitting you were their little brother but not now and that is due to them trending down and y'all trending up. if your "logic" holds true then when y'alls fortunes suffer a reversal and the tsips begin to trend up, bam! back to being their little bro.

So, we are threat because we are in the SEC?
This was said by a non-Ag? I have truly seen it all.

recruiting is still pretty impressive

Other than Malik, and that one hurts, a lot of the class is still taking visits and the Florida Five is unlikely to even be the Florida Few.
I just don't see it happening in the near future.
In fact, the second they make a coaching change I will feel less secure than I do right now.

Yeah man, that's exactly how logic works.

ETA: Not said sarcastically, I believe that what you are saying is true. But referring back to the post you replied to, it may be a long time before this happens.

To your point, he is now out of excuses. We have a proven DC now. I honestly don't know if there is a wins/losses threshold for him in 2015 or 2016.

Program has to show improvement in the next 2 years. My personal expectations for next year is 8-9 wins. In 2016 he better have a 10+ win season. He will be completely out of excuses by then.

I think it definitely helps you on the recruiting trail. It definitely helps Kentucky and South Carolina when going up against their in-state rivals.

Strong will be fired before Sumlin.

Also, if your kid needs a Core Value of 'no guns', you are a bad fricking parent.

So it is more about confidence in Strong's abilities?

To be fair, I don't think he is a bad coach. I just doubt if he can stay around long enough to change the culture.

Um.....No.

Their weight room:

Looks like a dungeon. Ours looks like a modern open concept house:

They are due for major renovations, but given the challenges of space in downtown Austin they might never beat us on facilities again.

Not really. Honestly he has gotten less of a bump then you would figure the new head coach of Texas would get. We should have at most one or two recruits he would want, not a pile of them.

I respect your opinion, and you could be right. It just caught me off guard so I had to ask.
