Lived in Kettering for a number of years and all in all, not a bad state. What I really enjoyed was taking trips up the Ohio river from Cincinnati to East Liverpool because it reminds me of 1950-1960 Americana with all the row house quaint small town and steel mills, and to a degree it still is. I enjoyed that period of american history. Now, the other thing is the state's fascination with football, especially hs football, which like Texas is a way of life, and quite good. towns will literally be barren on friday night lights. Good memories from there.

It's easy to make fun of Ohio, but the people there are great and there is a whole lot more to do there than people realize. Summer and fall in Ohio are awesome.

Yes, that is true.... especially SE Ohio, or Appalachian Ohio. People there are really friendly, although generally poor. Joe Burrow can attest to that.

Not as funny. Well the show was hilarious at times, but was wondering if you are old enough to remember this? It had a memorable theme song. And fits with the Ohio theme of this thread.

I was born in 1981, and I'm not sure I ever heard that before.

"The South" is really corn or factories for the most part, including Montgomery co/"Pilots" There really are not a lot of pilots at Wright-Patt, its more R&D and reverse engineering. Youngstown is spot on.
Could probably add something about Oil derricks and corn up in central north

If you're from the area, The South and Northern Kentucky are the 51st State.

I had buddies from that area call Youngstown "Yompton" because it is such a shithole.
The Lake Erie coast is fantastic though.

Yes! I remember that show. I remember it because as a boy I wanted to jump Loni Anderson.
