Georgia's worst case/best case scenario with Mark Richt.

Georgia's worst case is obvious and one all SEC teams are cheering for: keeping Richt.
Georgia's best case? Probably getting rid of Richt this season and getting Fuente. Kind of a scary scenario considering the dude know his X's and O's. Imagine what he could do with the talent Georgia brings in.
Please just keep Richt for the sake of everyone.

Richt probably has a grace period of three or four years to be quite honest. He's in a better position than Pinkel at least.

We've collectively taken your request into consideration....
but no...
no more Richt....no more ulcers...no more restless nights...

Mark Richt is going to get a pass, and rightfully so, because Chubb got hurt

What they really need to do is figure out who is cursing their RBs.

How expensive would it be to fire him this season?

Some coaches lose starting players and go on to win championships.
Other coaches lose starting players and continue a 15 year path of irrelevance.
Which category does Richt fall under?

I think the real question is...does UGA, a university with plenty of money..have the administration and supporters to put forth what is necessary to make it happen?.....UGA is cheap....it seems they are content having a brand that makes enough money regardless of football wins...until those seats start becoming unoccupied...I'm not sure anything will change

Richts buyout is practically non existent. It might be a million. To my knowledge there was no buyout extension with his last raise. Either way it's not an issue

Just a heads up, firing a coach that wins 9-10 games a year isn't always as cool as it seems

UGA is too prime a job to fall into the abyss UT is still trying to climb out of.

Why? The only thing they have is a better instate recruiting, Tennessee got effed by kiffin leaving in January and having to hire someone that would even take the job on those circumstances. I.e Dooley.

In-state recruiting is pivotal. Richt has greatly under achieved.

Gee, thanks for your support of Mark Richt.
Can't say I blame you considering his record against UF. We wanted UF to keep Muschamp but, well... you know.
Back to reality. Richt has under performed for 15 years. We have all kinds of talent. There is no excuse left in my opinion. Our 2008 team had so many skilled players who went on to start in the NFL, it's ridiculous. Do you remember Bama's QB that year? Neither do I which is my point. Bama's QB did not play in the NFL. Our QB from 2008 is starting for the Lions. Case and point.
There are so many openings out there right now, I wonder if we have the draw to appeal to a top tier coaching candidate. I Hope we do. It is time for a change.
Oh and Mark Richt is a great man. Obligatory sign off.

So many openings coming up this year.... You all might want to hang on to Richt for another year or 2 and see how the coaching changes unfold before jumping the gun.

The loss was inexcusable, the one to Alabama.

Georgia is in that dangerous Nebraska-type situation...
Nebraska fired Frank Solich after logging in a 10 win season at Nebraska. They then hired Bill Callahan and disaster ensued.
Nebraska then went on to fire Bo Pelini after a 9 win season. Now look what's happening with Mike Riley...

True, but who besides maybe USC is going to pull a coach over UGA?

Richt will not get fired at UGA.
It would split the fan base. Not the peons, but the ones that count. The big Dawgs that write big checks.

I know a few of those big dawgs...albeit...small sample size ..nevertheless, these individuals want him to retire at the end of the year....he can soul search while our university searches for a new head coach...
I doubt we will fire the "good man"...hopefully we can lean on him enough to push him out the door..
