Even if we accept your premise, it’s not surprising Given a down year for Bama. They are usually good enough to be just better than non-playoff teams. Problem is, that is UGA’s ceiling and damn near Bama’s floor right now.

I watched LSU play Bama in Tuscaloosa. A few weeks later, I watched LSU play UGA in Atlanta.
I can assure you... Bama was better than UGA.
With Tua, Bama 7-10 pt favorite...Without Tua, Bama probably a 3-5 pt favorite.
